Railway applications - Power convertors installed on board rolling stock - Part 1: Characteristics and test methods

Is applicable to power electronic convertors mounted on board railway rolling-stock and intended for supplying traction circuits and auxiliary circuits of power vehicles, coaches and trailers. Extends as far as possible to all other traction vehicles, including trolley-buses. Covers the complete convertor assembly together with its mounting arrangements.

The text of document 9/864/FDIS, future edition 2 of IEC 61287-1, prepared by IEC TC 9, Electrical
equipment and systems for railways, was submitted to the IEC-CENELEC parallel vote and was approved
by CENELEC as EN 61287-1 on 2005-10-01.
This European Standard supersedes EN 50207:2000.
The following dates were fixed:
– latest date by which the EN has to be implemented
at national level by publication of an identical
(dop) 2007-07-01
national standard or by endorsement
– latest date by which the national standards conflicting
