Foreword
ISO (the International Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide federation of
national Standards bodies (ISO member bodies). The work of preparing International
Standards is normally carried out through ISO technical committees. Esch member
body interested in a subject for which a technical committee has been established has
the right to be represented on that committee. International organizations, govern-
mental and non-governmental, in liaison with ISO, also take part in the work. ISO
collaborates closely with the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) on all
matters of electrotechnical standardization.
Draft International Standards adopted by the technical committees are circulated to
the member bodies for approval before their acceptance as International Standards by
the ISO Council. They are approved in accordance with ISO procedures requiring at
least 75 % approval by the member bodies voting.
International Standard ISO 8421-8 was prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 21,

Avant-propos
L’ISO (Organisation internationale de normalisation) est une federation mondiale
d’organismes nationaux de normalisation (comites membres de I’ISO). L’elaboration
des Normes internationales est en general confiee aux comites techniques de I’ISO.
Chaque comite membre interesse par une etude a Ie droit de faire Partie du comite
technique cr& a cet effet. Les organisations internationales, gouvernementales et non
gouvernementales, en liaison avec I’ISO participent egalement aux travaux. L’ISO col-

Standard SIST ISO 8421-8 (sl), Požarna zaščita - Slovar - 8. del: Izrazi, ki so specifični za gasilske
reševalne službe in ravnanje z nevarnimi snovmi, prva izdaja, 1999, ima status slovenskega
standarda in je enakovreden mednarodnemu standardu ISO 8421-8, Fire protection - Vocabulary -
Part 8: Terms specific to fire-fighting, rescue services and handling hazardous materials, first edition,
1990-08-15.
NACIONALNI PREDGOVOR
Mednarodni standard ISO 8421-8:1990, je pripravil tehnični odbor Mednarodne organizacije za
standardizacijo ISO/TC 21 Oprema za požarno zaščito in gašenje.
Slovenski standard SIST ISO 8421-8:1999 je prevod in dopolnitev angleškega besedila
mednarodnega standarda ISO 8421-8:1990. SIST ISO 8421-8:1999 se od izvirnika razlikuje po tem,
da je dopolnjen z naslovom in izrazi v nemškem jeziku; dodane so tri opombe, označene s Sl. op., da
se ločijo od opomb v izvirniku. V primeru spora glede besedila slovenskega prevoda v tem standardu
je odločilen izvirni mednarodni standard v angleškem jeziku.
Slovensko izdajo standarda je pripravil tehnični odbor USM/TC APZ Aktivna požarna zaščita.
Ta slovenski standard je dne 1999-06-15 odobril direktor USM.
OPOMBI

PREDGOVOR
ISO (Mednarodna organizacija za standardizacijo) je svetovna zveza nacionalnih standardizacijskih
organov (članov ISO). Mednarodne standarde ponavadi pripravljajo tehnični odbori ISO. Vsak član, ki
ga zanima področje, za katero je bil tehnični odbor ustanovljen, ima pravico biti zastopan v tem
odboru. Pri delu sodelujejo tudi vladne in nevladne mednarodne organizacije, povezane z ISO. ISO
tesno sodeluje z Mednarodno elektrotehniško komisijo (IEC) pri vseh zadevah standardizacije na
področju elektrotehnike.
Osnutke mednarodnih standardov, ki so jih sprejeli tehnični odbori, potrdijo člani ISO, preden jih kot
mednarodne standarde potrdi svet ISO. V skladu s postopki ISO se standardi potrdijo, če se s tem
strinja 75 odstotkov glasujočih članov.
Mednarodni standard ISO 8421-8 je pripravil tehnični odbor ISO/TC 21 Oprema za požarno zaščito in
gašenje.

Obseg in področje uporabe
Ta del ISO 8421 navaja izraze in definicije za gašenje požara, reševalne službe in ravnanje z
nevarnimi snovmi. Izrazi so navedeni po abecednem redu angleških izrazov; dodana sta abecedna
seznama angleških in francoskih izrazov, v slovenski izdaji pa še abecedna seznama slovenskih in
nemških izrazov.
Opomba: Pri številčenju izrazov prva številka (8) označuje osmi del standarda ISO 8421.
Zveze z drugimi standardi
Navedeni standardi vsebujejo določila, ki zaradi navedbe v tem besedilu predstavljajo tudi določila
tega dela ISO 8421. V času tiskanja so veljale navedene izdaje. Ker se vsi standardi revidirajo, naj
stranke, katerih pogodbe temeljijo na tem delu ISO 8421, preverijo, ali je mogoče uporabiti najnovejše
