new 3.5, 3.6, 3.14 and 3.15, where appropriate;
— minor modification has been made to 3.16 for high-humid conditions.

Introduction
This document was originally prepared by Subcommittee SC 1, Fibre boards. Initially, a separate
document (ISO/CD 17065) had been prepared by Subcommittee SC 2, Particle boards, to cover the
definitions and terminology of particleboard, but as the work progressed, the subcommittee realized
that, owing to many common terms, the best option was to combine the two documents. The work on
the combined draft was carried out jointly by Subcommittees SC 1 and SC 2 and is contained in this
document.

Cette deuxième édition annule et remplace la première édition (ISO 17064:2004), qui a fait l’objet d’une
révision technique en vue d’apporter les modifications suivantes:
— les termes utilisés pour les panneaux résistants à l’humidité et les milieux humides ont été modifiés,
voir 3.5, 3.6, 3.14 et 3.15, le cas échéant;
— une modification mineure a été apportée au 3.16, concernant le terme «milieu très humide».

Introduction
Le présent document a été initialement rédigé par le Sous-comité SC 1, Panneaux de fibres. Au début
des travaux, un autre document (ISO/CD 17065) avait été élaboré par le Sous-comité SC 2, Panneaux de
particules, pour traiter les définitions et la terminologie propres aux panneaux de particules; toutefois,
alors que les travaux avançaient, le sous-comité a jugé qu’il était préférable de combiner ces deux
documents, en raison de l’existence de nombreux termes communs. Les travaux portant sur le projet
conjoint ont été menés de concert par les Sous-comités SC 1 et SC 2, et le présent document constitue le
résultat de ces travaux.
Des normes de produits ont été élaborées pour traiter la classification et les symboles des panneaux de
fibres, des panneaux de particules et des panneaux de lamelles minces, longues et orientées (OSB).
