Cranes - Safety - Hand powered cranes
This document specifies requirements for the following hand powered cranes defined in Clause 3:
- hand chain blocks;
- lever hoists;
- jaw winches;
- hand powered trolleys supporting lifting machines;
NOTE Hand powered trolleys placed on the market on their own and intended to be used with products within the scope of this document are considered as interchangeable equipment as defined in Directive 2006/42/EC.
- drum winches;
- pulley blocks.
This document deals with the following significant hazards, hazardous situations or hazardous events relevant to hand powered cranes, when it is used as intended and under conditions of misuse which are reasonably foreseeable by the manufacturer:
- mechanical hazards;
- thermal hazards;
- material/substance hazards;
- ergonomic hazards;
- hazards associated with the environment in which they are used.
This document does not cover hazards related to the lifting of persons.
This document is not applicable to hand powered cranes for:
- use in ambient temperature outside the range of - 10°C to + 50°C, however for some lifting medium the minimum temperature will be higher than −10 °C;
- use in direct contact with food stuffs or pharmaceuticals requiring a high level of cleanliness for hygiene reasons;
- handling specific hazardous materials (e.g. explosives, hot molten masses, radiating materials);
- operation in an explosive atmosphere.
This document is not applicable to hand powered cranes manufactured before the date of its publication.
Krane - Sicherheit - Handbetriebene Krane
Dieses Dokument legt Anforderungen für die in Abschnitt 3 definierten und nachfolgend aufgeführten handbetriebenen Krane fest:
- Handkettenzüge;
- Hebelzüge;
- Klemmbackenwinden;
- handgetriebene Fahrwerke, mit Hebezeugen;
ANMERKUNG Handbetriebene Fahrwerke, die separat auf den Markt gebracht werden und für die Verwendung mit Produkten im Anwendungsbereich dieses Dokuments bestimmt sind, werden als auswechselbare Ausrüstung nach Richtlinie 2006/42/EG betrachtet.
- Trommelwinden;
- Flaschenzüge.
Dieses Dokument behandelt die folgenden signifikanten Gefährdungen, Gefährdungssituationen oder Gefährdungsereignisse, die auf handbetriebene Krane zutreffen, wenn sie bestimmungsgemäß und unter Bedingungen, die vom Hersteller als Fehlanwendung vernünftigerweise vorhersehbar sind, verwendet werden:
- mechanische Gefährdungen;
- Gefährdungen durch thermische Einflüsse;
- Gefährdungen durch Materialien und Stoffe;
- ergonomische Gefährdungen;
- Gefährdungen in Zusammenhang mit der Umgebung, in der sie zum Einsatz kommen.
Dieses Dokument behandelt nicht die Gefährdungen, die beim Heben von Personen auftreten.
Dieses Dokument ist nicht anwendbar für handbetriebene Krane für:
- die Anwendung in Umgebungstemperaturen außerhalb des Bereichs von -10 °C bis +50 °C. Für einige Tragmittel liegt die Mindesttemperatur allerdings bei mehr als -10 °C:
- die Anwendung in direktem Kontakt mit Lebensmitteln oder pharmazeutischen Erzeugnissen, die aus hygienischen Gründen einen hohen Grad an Sauberkeit erfordern;
- die Handhabung spezifischer gefährlicher Werkstoffe (z. B. Sprengstoffe, feuerflüssige Massen, strahlende Werkstoffe);
- den Betrieb in explosionsfähigen Atmosphären.
Dieses Dokument gilt nicht für handbetriebene Krane, die vor dem Veröffentlichungsdatum dieses Dokuments hergestellt wurden.

Le présent document fixe des exigences pour les appareils de levage à bras suivants définis à l'Article 3 :
- palans à chaînes ;
- palans à levier ;
- treuils à mâchoires ;
- chariots à déplacement manuel pour appareil de levage ;
NOTE Les chariots à déplacement manuel mis sur le marché seuls et destinés à être utilisés avec des produits entrant dans le domaine d'application du présent document sont considérés comme des équipements interchangeables tels que définis dans la Directive 2006/42/CE.
- treuils à tambour ;
- moufles de levage.
Le présent document traite les phénomènes dangereux, situations dangereuses ou événements dangereux significatifs suivants qui sont pertinents pour les appareils de levage à bras, lorsqu'ils sont utilisés normalement et dans les conditions de mauvais usage raisonnablement prévisible par le fabricant :
- phénomènes dangereux mécaniques ;
- phénomènes dangereux thermiques ;
- phénomènes dangereux engendrés par des matériaux ou produits ;
- phénomènes dangereux engendrés par le non-respect des principes ergonomiques ;
- phénomènes dangereux associés à l'environnement dans lequel ils sont utilisés.
Le présent document ne couvre pas les phénomènes dangereux relatifs au levage des personnes.
Le présent document ne s'applique pas aux appareils de levage à bras pour :
- une utilisation à une température ambiante extérieure à la plage de −10 °C à +50 °C ; cependant, pour certains organes de levage, la température minimale est supérieure à −10 °C ;
- une utilisation en contact direct avec des produits alimentaires ou pharmaceutiques nécessitant un degré élevé de propreté pour des raisons d'hygiène ;
- la manutention de produits dangereux spécifiques (par exemple, explosifs, masse en fusion, produits radioactifs) ;
- un fonctionnement en atmosphère explosive.
Le présent document ne s'applique pas aux appareils de levage à bras fabriqués avant la date de sa publication.
