Adhesives for load-bearing timber structures - Test methods - Part 3: Determination of the effect of acid damage to wood fibres by temperature and humidity cycling on the transverse tensile strength

This Part of EN 302 specifies a method for determining the effect on bond strength of damage to wood fibres caused by the action of acids from the adhesive during climatic cycling. It is suitable for the following applications: a) assessing the compliance of adhesives with EN 301; b) for assessing the suitability and quality of adhesives for load-bearing timber structures; c) for determining if the adhesive after bonding has a damaging influence on the strength of the wood due to chemical action. This test is intended primarily to obtain performance data for the classification of adhesives for load-bearing timber structures according to their suitability for use in defined climatic environments. This test is carried out on spruce (Picea abies L.). This method is not intended for use to provide numerical design data and does not necessarily represent the performance of the bonded member in service. It is not intended to be used to assess the suitability of adhesives for the manufacture of wood-based panels.  NOTE Attention is drawn to the fact that the performance requirement established in EN 301 for the acid fibre damage test applies only if either: 1) the adhesive mixture, or 2) one of the adhesive components, when applied separately, shows a pH value lower than 4,0, as determined by EN 1245.

Klebstoffe für tragende Holzbauteile - Prüfverfahren - Teil 3: Bestimmung des Einflusses von Säureschädigung der Holzfasern durch Temperatur- und Feuchtezyklen auf die Querzugfestigkeit

Dieser Teil von EN 302 legt ein Verfahren zur Bestimmung des Einflusses von Holzfaserschädigung auf die Klebstofffugenfestigkeit, verursacht durch die Wirkung von Säuren des Klebstoffes während einer zyklischen Klimabeanspruchung, fest.
Er ist für folgende Anwendungsfälle geeignet:
a)   zur Beurteilung der Übereinstimmung von Klebstoffen mit EN 301;
b)   zur Beurteilung der Eignung und Qualität von Klebstoffen für tragende Holzbauteile;
c)   zur Feststellung, ob der Klebstoff nach der Verklebung infolge chemischer Vorgänge einen schädigenden Einfluss auf die Holzfestigkeit hat.
Diese Prüfung dient hauptsächlich der Ermittlung von Leistungswerten für die Klassifizierung von Klebstoffen für tragende Holzbauteile entsprechend ihrer Eignung zum Einsatz unter bestimmten klimatischen Bedingungen. Diese Prüfung wird mit Fichte (Picea abies L.) durchgeführt.
Dieses Verfahren ist nicht zur Ermittlung von Rechenwerten für die Konstruktion geeignet und gibt nicht zwangsläufig das Verhalten des verklebten Bauteiles in Gebrauch wieder.

Adhésifs pour structures portantes en bois - Méthodes d'essai - Partie 3: Détermination de l'influence de l'attaque d'acide des fibres de bois, résultant de traitements cycliques en température et humidité sur la résistance à la traction transversale

Cette partie de l’EN 302 décrit une méthode de détermination de l’influence sur la résistance à la rupture d’un joint de l’attaque des fibres de bois provoquée par l’action d’acides contenus dans l’adhésif pendant des traitements cycliques climatiques.
Elle concerne les applications suivantes :
a)   évaluation de la conformité des adhésifs à l’EN 301 ;
b)   évaluation de l’aptitude et de la qualité des adhésifs pour les structures portantes en bois ;
c)   détermination de l’éventuelle influence nuisible de l’adhésif après collage sur la résistance du bois résultant d’une action chimique.
Le présent essai est principalement destiné à obtenir des données de performances en vue de la classification des adhésifs pour les structures portantes en bois en fonction de leur aptitude à l’utilisation dans des environnements climatiques définis. Cet essai est réalisé sur de l’épicéa (Picea abies L.).
La présente méthode n’est pas destinée à fournir des données numériques relatives à la conception et ne représente pas nécessairement les performances de l’élément collé dans son application.

Lepila za nosilne lesene konstrukcije - Preskusne metode - 3. del: Ugotavljanje vpliva kislinskih poškodb lesnih vlaken, nastalih zaradi cikličnih obremenitev s temperaturo in vlago, na prečno natezno trdnost

Ta del standarda EN 302 določa metodo za ugotavljanje vpliva poškodb lesnih vlaken na sprijemno trdnost, ki nastanejo zaradi delovanja kislin iz lepila med podnebno obremenitvijo. Metoda se uporablja za: a) oceno skladnosti lepil s standardom EN 301; b) oceno ustreznosti in kakovosti lepil za nosilne lesene konstrukcije; c) ugotavljanje, ali ima lepilo po sprijemanju škodljiv vpliv na trdnost lesa zaradi delovanja kemikalij. Ta preskus je namenjen zlasti pridobivanju podatkov o lastnostih za razvrstitev lepil za nosilne lesene konstrukcije glede na njihovo ustreznost za uporabo v opredeljenih podnebnih okoljih. Pri tem poskusu se uporablja smreka (Picea abies L.). Ta metoda ni namenjena za zagotavljanje številčnih podatkov o zasnovi, pri čemer ne predstavlja nujno lastnosti zlepljenega elementa v uporabi. Ni namenjena za oceno ustreznosti lepil za proizvodnjo lesnih plošč.  OPOMBA Opozoriti je treba, da se zahteva glede lastnosti iz standarda EN 301 za preskus kislinskih poškodb vlaken uporablja le, če ima: 1) mešanica lepila ali 2) ena od sestavin lepila pri ločenem nanosu vrednost pH nižjo od 4,0, kot je določeno v standardu EN 1245.

The series consists of three classification and performance requirements for adhesives for load-bearing timber structures, phenolic and aminoplastic adhesives (EN 301), one component polyurethane adhesives (EN 15425) and emulsion polymerised isocyanate adhesives (prEN 16254), and all together eleven test methods (EN 302 Parts 1 to 7 and EN 15416 Parts 2 to 5).
