Communication cables -- Part 2-22: Common design rules and construction - PVC sheathing compounds

This Part 2-22 of EN 50290 gives specific requirements for PVC sheathing compounds used for communication cables. For cables with a maximum rated temperature of 90 °C, compound of Grade TM53 shall be used and it shall comply with the requirements described in Table 1. For oil resistant PVC cables, sheathing compound Grade TM54 or TM55 chosen according to the environmental conditions shall be used and it shall comply with the requirements described in Table 1. It is to be read in conjunction with Part 2-20 of EN 50290.

Dieser Teil 2-22 der EN 50290 legt gemeinsame Anforderungen für PVC-Mantelmischungen, die in Kommunikationskabeln verwendet werden, fest. Für Kabel mit einer höchsten Bemessungstemperatur von 90° C muss der Mischungstyp TM53 verwendet werden. Er muss mit den in Tabelle 1 beschriebenen Anforderungen übereinstimmen. Für ölbeständige PVC-Kabel sind die Mantelmischungstypen TM54 oder TM55 entsprechend den Umgebungsbedingungen zu verwenden. Sie müssen mit den in Tabelle 1 beschriebenen Anforderungen übereinstimmen. Er ist zussammen mit Teil 2-20 der EN 50290 anzuwenden.

La présente partie 2-22 de la Norme européenne EN 50290 donne les prescriptions spécifiques pour les mélanges en PVC pour gainage utilisés dans les câbles de communication. Pour les câbles ayant une température nominale maximale de 90 °C, un composé de Grade TM53 doit être utilisé et doit satisfaire aux exigences décrites dans la Tableau 1. Pour les câbles PVC résistant aux huiles, des composés de gainage de Grade TM54 ou TM55 sélectionnés selon les conditions environnementales doivent être utilisés, et doivent satisfaire aux exigences décrites dans le Tableau 1. Elle doit être lue avec la partie 2-20 de la EN 50290.

This European Standard was prepared by a joint working group of the Technical Committees
CENELEC TC 46X, Communication cables, and CENELEC TC 86A, Optical fibres and optical fibre
cables.
The text of the draft was submitted to the Unique Acceptance Procedure and was approved by
CENELEC as EN 50290-2-22 on 2001-05-01.
This European Standard supersedes HD 624.2 S1:1994.
The following dates were fixed:
