This International Standard specifies requirements and provides guidance for design, testing, installation and commissioning of heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and pressurization systems and equipment on all offshore production installations for the petroleum and natural gas industries that are - new or existing, - normally occupied by personnel or not normally occupied by personnel, - fixed or floating but registered as an offshore production installation. For installations that can be subject to "Class" or "IMO/MODU Codes & Resolutions", the user is referred to HVAC requirements under these rules and resolutions. When these requirements are less stringent than those being considered for a fixed installation, then it is necessary that this International Standard, i.e. requirements for fixed installations, be utilized.

L'ISO 15138:2007 spécifie des exigences et fournit des lignes directrices pour la conception, les essais, l'installation et la mise en service de systèmes et d'équipements de chauffage, de ventilation, de climatisation et de pressurisation sur toutes les installations de production en mer pour les industries du pétrole et du gaz naturel qui sont nouvelles ou existantes, normalement occupées par du personnel ou bien non normalement occupées par du personnel, ou fixes ou flottantes mais enregistrées comme plates-formes de production en mer.
Pour les plates-formes pouvant être soumises aux exigences de «classe» ou de «codes et résolutions OMI/MODU», l'utilisateur est renvoyé aux exigences HVAC qui s'inscrivent dans le cadre de ces règles et résolutions. Si ces exigences sont moins strictes que celles prises en considération pour une installation fixe, il est alors nécessaire que soit utilisée l'ISO 15138:2007, c'est-à-dire les exigences pour les installations fixes.

This document (EN ISO 15138:2007) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 67 "Materials,
equipment and offshore structures for petroleum and natural gas industries" in collaboration with Technical
Committee CEN/TC 12 "Materials, equipment and offshore structures for petroleum, petrochemical and
natural gas industries", the secretariat of which is held by AFNOR.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical
text or by endorsement, at the latest by June 2008, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at
the latest by June 2008.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of patent
rights. CEN [and/or CENELEC] shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights.
This document supersedes EN ISO 15138:2000.

The CEN Secretary-General has advised the ISO Secretary-General that this ISO/DIS covers a subject
of interest to European standardization. In accordance with the ISO-lead mode of collaboration as
defined in the Vienna Agreement, consultation on this ISO/DIS has the same effect for CEN
members as would a CEN enquiry on a draft European Standard. Should this draft be accepted, a
final draft, established on the basis of comments received, will be submitted to a parallel two-month FDIS
vote in ISO and formal vote in CEN.
