Water based surface embedded heating and cooling systems - Part 5: Heating and cooling surfaces embedded in floors, ceilings and walls - Determination of the thermal output

This European Standard applies to water based heating and cooling systems embedded into the enclosure surfaces of the room to be heated or to be cooled. Part 5 of this standard deals with the recalculation of values determined in Part 2 of this European
Standard for the system in question, using it for floor heating applications. The recalculation method described in this part of the standard enables the conversion of the calculation and test results of Part 2 into results for other surface orientations in the room,
i. e. for ceiling and wall heating, as well as for the application as cooling surfaces, i. e. for floor, ceiling and wall cooling. It has to be emphasised that the test results of Part 2 of this European Standard are the basis of all calculation. Therefore the use of this prove method is necessary whether or not the system in question is used for heating or cooling application.

Raumflächenintegrierte Heiz und Kühlsysteme mit Wasserdurchströmung - Teil 5: Heiz­ und Kühlflächen in Fußböden, Decken und Wänden - Bestimmung der Wärmeleistung und der Kühlleistung

Diese Europäische Norm gilt für Heiz  und Kühlsysteme mit Wasserdurchströmung, die in die Raumum-schließungsflächen des zu heizenden oder zu kühlenden Raumes integriert sind. Teil 5 dieser Norm behan-delt die Umrechnung von Werten, die in Teil 2 dieser Europäischen Norm für das betreffende System bei Anwendung als Fußbodenheizung bestimmt wurden. Das im vorliegenden Teil der Norm beschriebene Umrechnungsverfahren ermöglicht die Umrechnung der Berechnungs  und experimentellen Ergebnisse von Teil 2 in Ergebnisse für andere Oberflächenausrichtungen im Raum, d. h. für die Wand  und Decken¬heizung, sowie für die Anwendung als Kühlflächen, d. h. für die Fußboden , Decken  und Wandkühlung. Es muss betont werden, dass Grundlage aller Berechnungen die Ergebnisse von Teil 2 dieser Europäischen Norm sind. Daher ist die Anwendung dieses Prüfverfahrens unabhängig davon erforderlich, ob das betreffende System für Heiz  oder für Kühlanwendungen eingesetzt wird.
Die vorliegende Europäische Norm ist auf den kommerziellen Handel und das praktische Ingenieurswesen anzuwenden, sofern geprüfte und zertifizierbare Werte für die Wärme /Kühlleistung erforderlich sind.

La présente Norme européenne s'applique aux systèmes de surfaces chauffantes et rafraîchissantes intégrées dans le sol, les plafonds et les murs d'une pièce devant être chauffée ou rafraîchie. La partie 5 de la présente norme européenne traite du recalcul des valeurs déterminées dans la partie 2 de la présente norme européenne pour le système en question, utilisé dans des applications de chauffage par le sol. La méthode de recalcul décrite dans cette partie de la présente norme européenne permet de convertir les résultats de calcul et d’essai de la partie 2 en résultats pour des surfaces orientés différemment, telles que les plafonds et les murs chauffants, ainsi que pour les applications de surfaces rafraîchissantes, telles que les systèmes rafraîchissants par le sol, les plafonds ou les murs. Les résultats d’essai de la partie 2 de la présente norme européenne constituent les données de base de tous les calculs. L’utilisation de cette méthode de démonstration est donc nécessaire, que le système en question soit ou non utilisé en chauffage ou en rafraîchissement.
Commercialement et techniquement, la présente norme doit être appliquée si les valeurs d'émissions thermiques doivent être éprouvées et certifiées.

Introduction This draft European Standard is based on the realisation that in the field of commercial trade the thermal output of heating and cooling systems represents the basis of rating. In order to be able to evaluate and compare different heating and cooling systems, it is, therefore, necessary to refer to values determined using one single, unambiguously defined method. The basis for doing so are the prove methods for the determination of the thermal output of floor heating systems described in Part 2 of this European Standard. In analogy to the European Standard EN 442-2 (Radiators and convectors — Part 2: Test methods and rating), this prove method provides characteristic partial load curves under defined boundary conditions as well as the characteristic output of the system represented by the standard thermal output together with the associated standard temperature difference between the heating medium and the room temperature.
