This standard specifies the characteristics of UV laser printable DR family, 5 to 10 cores, taped, screened
(braided) and jacketed electrical lightweight cables for use in the on-board electrical systems of aircraft, at
operating temperatures between 55 °C and 260 °C. Nevertheless, if needed, 65 °C is also acceptable as
shown by cold test.
It shall also be possible to mark these cables by qualified compatible marking.
These markings shall satisfy the requirements of EN 3838.

Diese Norm legt die Eigenschaften von bedruckbaren UV-Laser, 5- bis 10-adrigen, umwickelten, geschirmten (Umflechtung) und ummantelten, leichten elektrischen Leitungen der DR Familie zur Verwendung in Bordnetzen von Luftfahrzeugen bei Betriebstemperaturen zwischen - 55 °C und 260 °C fest. Es können aber auch, falls erforderlich, - 65 °C verwendet werden, wie die Kälteprüfung zeigt.
Es muss auch möglich sein, diese Leitungen mit einer qualifizierten, verträglichen Kennzeichnung zu versehen.
Diese Kennzeichnungen müssen die Anforderungen von EN 3838 erfüllen.

Ta evropski standard določa značilnosti lahkih električnih kablov družine DR, 5 do 10 žil, oviti, oklopljeni (opleteni) in oplaščeni, z možnostjo UV-laserskega tiskanja, za uporabo v električnih sistemih na krovu zračnega plovila pri obratovalnih temperaturah med -55°C in 260°C. Kljub temu je po potrebi sprejemljiva tudi temperatura -65°C, kot pokaže hladni test. Prav tako mora biti možno označiti te kable s primernim, združljivim označevanjem. Te označbe morajo ustrezati zahtevam EN 3838.

1 Scope This European Standard specifies the characteristics of UV laser printable DR family, 5 to 10 cores, taped, screened (braided) and jacketed electrical lightweight cables for use in the on-board electrical systems of aircraft, at operating temperatures between - 55 °C and 260 °C. Nevertheless, if needed, - 65 °C is also acceptable as shown by cold test. It shall also be possible to mark these cables by qualified compatible marking.
