This amendment A2 modifies the European Standard EN 416-1:1999; it was approved by CEN on 9 June 2001.
CEN members are bound to comply with the CEN/CENELEC Internal Regulations which stipulate the conditions for inclusion of this
amendment into the relevant national standard without any alteration. Up-to-date lists and bibliographical references concerning such
national standards may be obtained on application to the Management Centre or to any CEN member.
This amendment exists in three official versions (English, French, German). A version in any other language made by translation under the
responsibility of a CEN member into its own language and notified to the Management Centre has the same status as the official versions.

Foreword
This Amendment EN 416-1:1999/A2:2001 to EN 416-1:1999 has been prepared by Technical Committee
CEN/TC 180 "Non-domestic gas-fired overhead radiant heaters", the secretariat of which is held by BSI.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an
identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by January 2002, and conflicting national standards
shall be withdrawn at the latest by January 2002.
This Amendment to the European Standard EN 416-1:1999 has been prepared under a mandate given
to CEN by the European Commission and the European Free Trade Association, and supports essential
requirements of EU Directive(s).
This Amendment modifies EN 416-1:1999. It has been prepared to incorporate general amendments to
EN 416-1:1999 and EN 437:1993 + A1:1997 + A2:1999.
According to the CEN/CENELEC Internal Regulations, the national standards organizations of the
following countries are bound to implement this European Standard: Austria, Belgium, Czech
Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg,
Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
Title
In the English version of EN 416-1:1999 the title should read:
‘Single burner gas-fired overhead radiant tube heaters for non-domestic use – Part 1:Safety’.

2 Normative references
Amend the reference to EN 257 and EN 437 as follows:

3 Definitions
In definitions 3.4.1, 3.4.2, 3.4.3, and 3.4.4 replace:

In definition 3.4.3, reword the title and unit to read:
