Anodizing of aluminium and its alloys - Check for continuity of thin anodic oxidation coatings - Copper sulfate test (ISO 2085:2010)

This International Standard specifies a method for checking the continuity of thin anodic oxidation coatings on aluminium and its alloys by a copper sulfate contact test.
The use of this method is limited to anodic oxidation coatings of thickness less than 5 µm, or coatings that have been deformed.
NOTE The method described enables a rapid check to be made for the continuity of a thin coating of aluminium oxidation on aluminium and its alloys. In cases of doubt regarding a visible fault on the surface of a coating, the use of this method makes it possible to verify whether the fault corresponds to a local gap in the coating which exposes bare metal.

Diese Internationale Norm legt ein Verfahren zur Überprüfung der Kontinuität dünner anodisch erzeugter
Oxidschichten auf Aluminium und Aluminiumlegierungen mit Hilfe des Kupfersulfatversuchs fest.
Die Anwendung dieses Verfahrens ist auf dünne anodisch erzeugte Oxidschichten kleiner 5 μm oder
verformte Oxidschichten begrenzt.
ANMERKUNG Das beschriebene Verfahren ermöglicht eine schnelle Überprüfung der Geschlossenheit dünner
anodisch erzeugter Oxidschichten auf Aluminium und Aluminiumlegierungen. Ist ein Fehler auf der Schichtoberfläche nicht
zweifelsfrei zu erkennen, kann mit dem Kupfersulfatversuch geprüft werden, ob dieser Fehler die Schutzschicht bis auf
das Grundmetall unterbricht.

L'ISO 2085:2010 spécifie une méthode de contrôle de la continuité des couches anodiques minces sur l'aluminium et ses alliages par essai au sulfate de cuivre.
L'utilisation de cette méthode est limitée aux couches anodiques de moins de 5 μm d'épaisseur ou à celles ayant subi une déformation.

Ta mednarodni standard določa metodo za preverjanje zveznosti tanke anodizirane plasti na aluminiju in njegovih zlitinah s preskusom z bakrovim sulfatom.
Uporaba te metode je omejena na anodizirane prevleke z debelino manj kot 5 µm ali deformirane prevleke.
OPOMBA: Opisana metoda omogoča hitro preverjanje zveznosti tanke prevleke oksidacije aluminija na aluminiju in njegovih zlitinah. Če obstaja dvom o vidnih napakah na površini prevleke, se z uporabo te metode lahko preveri, ali napaka ustreza napaki lokalna vrzel na prevleki, ki izpostavlja golo kovino.

This document (EN ISO 2085:2010) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 79 "Light metals and
their alloys" in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 132 “Aluminium and aluminium alloys” the
secretariat of which is held by AFNOR.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical
text or by endorsement, at the latest by February 2011, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn
at the latest by February 2011.
