Overview

EN ISO 15493:2003/A11:2025 is a CEN amendment to the international standard for plastics piping systems for industrial applications made from ABS, PVC‑U and PVC‑C (metric series). The amendment A11 (approved April 2025) updates the European foreword and normative Annex ZA to align the standard with the Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU (replacing the obsolete reference to Directive 97/23/EC). Annex ZA provides a presumption of conformity pathway when the standard is cited in the Official Journal of the EU.

This document (EN ISO 15493:2003/A11:2025) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 155
“Plastics piping systems and ducting systems”, the secretariat of which is held by NEN.
This Amendment to the European Standard EN ISO 15493:2003 shall be given the status of a national
standard, either by publication of an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by November 2025,
and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by November 2025.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of
patent rights. CEN-CENELEC shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights.
This document has been prepared under a standardization request addressed to CEN by the European
