Telecommunication network equipment - Harmonised Standard for ElectroMagnetic Compatibility (EMC) requirements
The present document specifies the EMC requirements for telecommunication equipment intended to be used within a
telecommunications network, which provides telecommunications between Network Termination Points (NTPs)
(i.e. excluding terminal equipment beyond the NTPs). Radio functionality (e.g. Bluetooth®, Wi-Fi®, GPS) incorporated in
telecommunication network equipment is also within the scope of the present document. Examples of such equipment are:
1) Switching equipment. Such equipment includes:
- local telephone exchanges;
- remote switching concentrators;
- international switches;
- telex switches;
- network packet switches;
- base station controllers, radio network controllers;
- network servers and gateways.
2) Non-radio transmission equipment and ancillary equipment. Such equipment includes:
- multiplexers;
- line equipment and repeaters, e.g. equipment for:
Synchronous Digital Hierarchy (SDH);
Plesiochronous Digital Hierarchy (PDH);
Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM);
such as:
Digital Cross Connect systems;
network terminations;
transmission equipment used in the access network like xDSL.
3) Power supply equipment. Such equipment includes:
- central power plant;
- end of suite power supplies;
- uninterruptible power supplies;
- stabilized AC power supplies; and
- other dedicated telecommunication network power supplies,
but excludes equipment which is uniquely associated with or integrated in other equipment.
4) Supervisory equipment. Such equipment includes:
- network management equipment;
- operator access maintenance equipment;
- traffic measurement systems;
- line test units;
functional test units.
NOTE 1: The function of supervision may either be performed by independent equipment or form part of other
telecommunication network equipment. If the function of supervision forms part of a telecommunication
network equipment, the performance may be evaluated simultaneously with other functions (such as
switching and transmission) during EMC testing.
5) Telecommunication network equipment incorporating radio equipment.
6) Data centre equipment which is intended to be used within telecommunication network infrastructure:
- Storage.
- Processor.
- Server.
The requirements applicable to radio interfaces of Telecommunication network equipment within the scope of the
present document (e.g. Bluetooth®, Wi-Fi®, GPS) are defined in clause 7 and annex D.
The environmental classification locations used in the present document refer to ETSI TR 101 651 [i.22].
The emission requirements of the present document refer to EN 55032 [31] that have been selected to ensure an
adequate level of protection to radio services.
The immunity requirements of the present document have been selected to ensure an adequate level of immunity for the
apparatus covered by the scope of the present document. The levels do not, however, cover extreme cases which may
occur at any location but with a low probability of occurrence. In special cases, situations may arise where the levels of
disturbance may exceed the immunity test levels specified in the present document. In these instances, special
mitigation measures may have to be employed.
General purpose equipment, which is used as a part of a telecommunication network, may be covered by the scope of
other standards. Equipment which also fall within the scope of EN 50083-2 [3] may require additional testing on the
relevant RF ports. See clause 9.2 and annex C.
Equipment may provide different functions, i.e. switching equipment may also provide transmission functions and
transmission equipment may provide storage capabilities, etc. All available functions of the EUT are to be tested.
NOTE 2: The relationship between the present document and essential requirements of annex I.1 of Directive
2014/30/EU [i.31] and/or article 3.1(b) of Directive 2014/53/EU [i.6] is given in annex A

Ta dokument določa zahteve glede elektromagnetne združljivosti (EMC) za telekomunikacijsko opremo v okviru javnega telekomunikacijskega omrežja, ki zagotavlja telekomunikacijo med omrežnimi priključnimi točkami (NTP) (tj. razen za terminalsko opremo, ki presega omrežne priključne točke). Radijska funkcionalnost (npr. Bluetooth®, Wi-Fi®, GPS), vgrajena v opremo telekomunikacijskega omrežja, prav tako spada na področje uporabe tega dokumenta. Primeri take opreme so:
1) Stikalna oprema. Ta oprema vključuje:
– lokalne telefonske centrale;
– daljinske stikalne koncentratorje;
– mednarodna stikala;
– teleks stikala;
– omrežna paketna stikala;
– krmilnike bazne postaje, krmilnike radijskega omrežja;
– omrežne strežnike in prehode.
2) Oprema za neradijski prenos in pomožna oprema. Ta oprema vključuje:
– multiplekserje;
– linijsko opremo in ponavljalnike, npr. opremo za:
sinhrono digitalno hierarhijo (SDH);
pleziohrono digitalno hierarhijo (PDH);
asinhroni prenosni način (ATM);
kot so:
sistemi digitalnega prevezovanja;
omrežni zaključki;
oprema za prenos, ki se uporablja v dostopovnem omrežju, kot je xDSL.
3) Napajalna oprema. Ta oprema vključuje:
– centralno elektrarno;
– električno napajanje na koncu niza;
– napajalnike za neprekinjeno napajanje;
– napajalnike za stabilizirano napajanje z izmeničnim tokom; in
– druge namenske telekomunikacijske omrežne napajalnike;
vendar izključuje opremo, ki je edinstveno povezana z drugo opremo ali vključena vanjo.
4) Nadzorna oprema. Ta oprema vključuje:
– opremo za upravljanje omrežja;
– opremo za ohranjanje dostopa operaterja;
– sisteme za merjenje prometa;
– linijske preskusne enote;
– funkcijske preskusne enote.
OPOMBA 1: Funkcija nadzora se lahko izvaja s samostojno opremo ali v okviru druge telekomunikacijske omrežne opreme. Če je funkcija nadzora del telekomunikacijske omrežne opreme, se lahko zmogljivost oceni hkrati z drugimi funkcijami (kot sta preklapljanje in prenos) med preskusom elektromagnetne združljivosti.
5) Telekomunikacijska omrežna oprema, ki vključuje radijsko opremo.
6) Oprema za podatkovne centre, ki je namenjena uporabi znotraj infrastrukture telekomunikacijskega omrežja:
– pomnilnik;
– procesor;
– strežnik.
Zahteve, ki veljajo za radijske vmesnike opreme telekomunikacijskega omrežja v okviru tega dokumenta (npr. Bluetooth®, Wi-Fi®, GPS), so opredeljene v točki 7 in dodatku D.
Lokacije okoljske razvrstitve, uporabljene v tem dokumentu, se navezujejo na ETSI TR 101 651 [i.22].
Zahteve glede emisij v tem dokumentu se navezujejo na standard EN 55032 [31] in so bile izbrane tako, da zagotavljajo ustrezno raven zaščite radijskih storitev.
Zahteve glede odpornosti iz tega dokumenta so bile izbrane tako, da se zagotovi ustrezna stopnja odpornosti aparatov, ki spadajo na področje uporabe tega dokumenta.
