Earth-moving machinery - Safety - Part 9: Requirements for pipelayers
This part of prEN 474 deals with all significant hazards, hazardous situations and events relevant to pipelayers as defined in EN ISO 6165:2006 when they are used as intended and under conditions of misuse which are reasonably foreseeable by the manufacturer (see Clause 4).
The requirements of this part are complementary to the common requirements formulated in
prEN 474-1:2017.
This part does not repeat the requirements from prEN 474-1:2017 but adds or replaces the requirements for application for pipelayers.
This part specifies the appropriate technical measures to eliminate or reduce risks arising from the significant hazards, hazardous situations and events during commissioning, operation and maintenance of pipelayers.
This part specifies additional requirements for rear mounted winches.
Pipelayers with rotating upper structure are excluded from the scope of this document. This European Standard is not applicable to pipelayers manufactured before the date of publication of this European Standard by CEN.

Dieser Teil der prEN 474 behandelt alle signifikanten Gefährdungen, Gefährdungssituationen und Gefährdungsereignisse, die für Rohrverleger zutreffen, wie sie in EN ISO 6165:2006 definiert sind, wenn sie bestimmungsgemäß verwendet werden sowie unter den vernünftigerweise vom Hersteller vorhersehbaren Fehlanwendungen (siehe Abschnitt 4).
Die Anforderungen dieses Teils gelten ergänzend zu den allgemeinen Anforderungen der prEN 474-1:2017.
Dieser Teil wiederholt nicht die Anforderungen der prEN 474-1:2017, sondern ergänzt oder ersetzt diese für den Einsatz von Rohrverlegern.
Dieser Teil beschreibt die geeigneten technischen Maßnahmen, die erforderlich sind, um die Risiken, die aufgrund signifikanter Gefährdungen, Gefährdungssituationen und Gefährdungsereignisse, die während der Inbetriebnahme, des Betriebs und der Wartung von Rohrverlegern eintreten können, zu mindern oder zu beseitigen.
Dieser Teil gibt zusätzliche Anforderungen für heckseitig montierte Winden.
Rohrverleger mit drehbarem Aufbau sind vom Umfang dieses Dokuments ausgenommen. Diese Europäische Norm ist nicht anzuwenden für Rohrverleger, die vor der Veröffentlichung dieser Europäischen Norm durch CEN hergestellt wurden.

La présente partie du prEN 474 traite de tous les phénomènes, situations et événements dangereux significatifs relatifs aux poseurs de canalisations tels que définis dans l’EN ISO 6165: 2012, lorsqu’ils sont utilisés comme prévu ou dans des conditions de mauvais usage que le fabricant peut raisonnablement prévoir (voir Article 4).
Les prescriptions figurant dans la présente partie viennent en complément des prescriptions communes présentées dans le prEN 474-1:2017.
La présente partie ne répète pas les prescriptions du prEN 474-1:2017 mais en ajoute ou en remplace certaines applicables aux poseurs de canalisations.
La présente partie prescrit les mesures techniques appropriées pour éliminer ou réduire les risques dus aux phénomènes, situations et événements dangereux significatifs survenant lors de la mise en service, du fonctionnement et de la maintenance des poseurs de canalisations.
La présente partie spécifie des prescriptions supplémentaires pour les treuils montés à l’arrière.
Les poseurs de canalisations comportant une superstructure pivotante sont exclus du présent document.
La présente Norme européenne n’est pas applicable aux poseurs de canalisations fabriqués avant la publication de la présente Norme européenne par le CEN.

Introduction
This part of prEN 474 is a type C standard as stated in EN ISO 12100:2010.
The machinery concerned and the extent to which hazards, hazardous situations and events are covered
are indicated in the scope of this European Standard.When provisions of this type C standard are different from those which are stated in type A or B
standards, the provisions of this type C standard take precedence over the provisions of the other
standards, for machines that have been designed and built according to the provisions of this type C
standard.1 Scope
