This European standard specifies the calculation method of user payloads allowed, when designing motor caravans.
It also sets out the information relating to user payload to be included in the user's handbook.
It applies to motor caravans as defined in EN 13878.

This document (EN 1646-2:2008) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 245 “Leisure
accomodation vehicles”, the secretariat of which is held by BSI.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical
text or by endorsement, at the latest by December 2008, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn
at the latest by December 2008.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of patent
rights. CEN [and/or CENELEC] shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights.
This document supersedes EN 1646-2:1998.
This document is one of a series covering the habitation and design aspects of leisure accommodation
vehicles.
The method of calculation of user payloads to be allowed for when designing caravans is specified in
EN 1645-2.
According to the CEN/CENELEC Internal Regulations, the national standards organizations of the following

EN 1646-2:2008 (D) 3 Vorwort Dieses Dokument (EN 1646-2:2008) wurde vom Technischen Komitee CEN/TC 245 „Bewohnbare Freizeitfahrzeuge“ erarbeitet, dessen Sekretariat vom BSI gehalten wird. Diese Europäische Norm muss den Status einer nationalen Norm erhalten, entweder durch Veröffentlichung eines identischen Textes oder durch Anerkennung bis Dezember 2008, und etwaige entgegenstehende nationale Normen müssen bis Dezember 2008 zurückgezogen werden.
