This part of ISO 7784 specifies a method for determining the resistance to abrasion of coatings, for
which two loaded, freely rotatable but eccentrically arranged abrasive-paper covered wheels affect the
coating of the rotating test specimens.

This document (EN ISO 7784-1:2016) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 35 "Paints
and varnishes" in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 139 “Paints and varnishes” the
secretariat of which is held by DIN.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an
identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by October 2016, and conflicting national standards shall
be withdrawn at the latest by October 2016.

Vorwort
Dieses Dokument (prEN ISO 7784-1:2014) wurde vom Technischen Komitee ISO/TC 35 „Paints and
varnishes“ in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Technischen Komitee CEN/TC 139 „Lacke und Anstrichstoffe“
erarbeitet, dessen Sekretariat vom DIN gehalten wird.
Dieses Dokument ist derzeit zur parallelen Umfrage vorgelegt.
Dieses Dokument wird EN ISO 7784-1:2006 ersetzen.
Die wichtigsten Änderungen sind:
a) der Titel der Norm wurde geändert;
b) der Abschnitt „Begriffe“ wurde aufgenommen;
c) ein Bild zur Veranschaulichung des Prüfprinzips wurde aufgenommen;
d) die erforderlichen zusätzlichen Angaben wurden aus dem früheren Anhang A in den Prüfbericht integriert;
e) die Kalibrierung des Gerätes im früheren Anhang B wurde gestrichen;
f) die Durchführung der Prüfung wurde neu gegliedert;
g) der Text wurde redaktionell überarbeitet und die normativen Verweisungen wurden aktualisiert.
EN ISO 7784 besteht aus den folgenden Teilen mit dem allgemeinen Titel: Beschichtungsstoffe —
Bestimmung des Abriebwiderstandes
— Teil 1: Verfahren mit mit Schleifpapier belegten Rädern und rotierender Probenplatte
— Teil 2: Verfahren mit Reibrädern aus Gummi und rotierender Probenplatte

Dieses Dokument ist einer von drei Teilen von ISO 7784, welche die Bestimmung des Abriebwiderstandes
von Beschichtungen mittels Reibrädern behandeln. Die Prüfmerkmale und Unterschiede dieser Verfahren

Ein Mechanismus dreht das Schleifrad nach jedem Doppelhub um einen kleinen Winkel weiter, damit stets ein neuer
Schleifpapierbereich wirksam ist.

Die Verfahren, die ein mit Schleifpapier belegtes Rad verwenden (ISO 7784-1 und ISO 7784-3), sind zu
bevorzugen.

1 Anwendungsbereich
