CEN/TC 267/WG 5 - Inspection and testing

This Part of this European Standard specifies the requirements for inspection and testing of industrial piping as defined in EN 13480-1:2017 to be performed on individual spools or piping systems, including supports, designed in accordance with EN 13480-3:2017 and EN 13480-6:2017 (if applicable), and fabricated and installed in accordance with EN 13480-4:2017.

This Technical Report gives guidance on the use of conformity assessment procedures for industrial piping in relation to EN 13480.

This document specifies requirements for metallic industrial piping and their parts made of nickel and nickel alloys (see 3.1) in addition to the general requirements for metallic industrial piping under EN 13480 1:2017, EN 13480 2:2017, EN 13480 3:2017, EN 13480 4:2017 and EN 13480 5:2017.
NOTE   Cast materials are not included in this version. Details regarding cast materials will be subject to an amendment to or a revision of this document.

This Technical Report gives guidance on the use of conformity assessment procedures for industrial piping and pipelines as covered by Article 1, § 2.1.1 of the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED). The PED requires all pres-sure equipment falling within its scope to have its design and manufacture assessed for conformity in accordance with a series of conformity assessment procedures given in Article 10 of the PED. These procedures are described in detail in Annex III of the PED to which reference must be made in order to ensure compliance. The following summary is given for guidance purposes only.
