This European Standard has been produced under Standardisation Mandate M/202 in response to the European Commission Directive implementing Council Directive 92/75/EEC with regard to energy labeling of household lamps. A method of classification of lamps according to energy efficiency is given in the directive and is not a part of this standard. This standard specifies the test conditions and method of measurement of luminous flux, lamp wattage and lamp life as given on a label on the lamp packaging, together with a procedure for verification of the declared values. Only those parameters that are specific to the above mentioned Directive are included in this standard. All other parameters are included in the relevant lamp performance standards. Lamps covered by this standard are: mains voltage tungsten filament lamps; mains voltage tungsten halogen lamps; self-ballasted lamps; double-capped fluorescent lamps; single-capped fluorescent lamps

Frequently Asked Questions

An EU Regulation is a binding legislative act that must be applied in its entirety across the European Union. Unlike directives, regulations do not need to be transposed into national law and are directly applicable in all member states. Regulations are used when uniform application across all EU countries is essential.

Slovenian Regulation 2001-01-5084 covers "Odredba za energijsko označevanje žarnic in sijalk za uporabo v gospodinjstvu". There are 6 standards associated with this slovenian regulation.

Harmonized standards under 2001-01-5084 are European standards (ENs) developed by CEN, CENELEC, or ETSI in response to a mandate from the European Commission. When these standards are cited in the Official Journal of the European Union, products manufactured in conformity with them benefit from a presumption of conformity with the essential requirements of 2001-01-5084, facilitating CE marking and free movement within the European Economic Area.
