ASTM D3924-80(2005)
(Specification)Standard Specification for Standard Environment for Conditioning and Testing Paint, Varnish, Lacquer, and Related Materials
Standard Specification for Standard Environment for Conditioning and Testing Paint, Varnish, Lacquer, and Related Materials
ABSTRACT
This specification defines standard environment for normal conditioning and testing of paint, varnish, lacquer, and related coating materials. Conditioning and testing of such materials shall be carried out in an atmosphere having room temperature and relative humidity within the limits of the standard specification. Moreover, the standard room or cabinet for conditioning and testing shall be well-ventilated and free of drafts, dusts, combustion products, and laboratory fumes. Conditioning, routine, and referee testing, shall be done in accordance with the specification.
SCOPE
1.1 This specification defines the standard atmospheres for normal conditioning and testing of paint, varnish, lacquer, and related materials, at approximately ambient conditions. Note 1See Terminology E 41, Specification E 171 and Test Method E 337.
1.2 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as the standard. The values given in parentheses are for information only.
