ABSTRACT
This specification covers commercial powered pot, pan, and utensil washing sinks of the following types, styles, and classes: Type I, Type II, Style 1 (Class A and Class B), and Style 2, having the specified sizes for (1) drainboards, soiled and clean ends, (2) scrapper section, (3) wash sink, (4) rinse sink, and (5) sanitizer sink. The materials shall conform to the specified requirements and include: corrosion-resistant steel, corrosion-resisting material, nickel-copper alloy, and plastics. Construction requirements for the following are detailed: (1) piping, tubing, fittings, and valves, (2) spray assemblies, (3) tank, (4) overflow, (5) frame, (6) legs (feet), (7) pump and motor assemblies, and (8) heating. The electrical equipment requirements for the motors, controls, and wiring and circuit devices; lubrication requirements; and requirements for treatment and painting, are specified. Powered pot, pan, and utensil washing sinks shall conform to the specified performance requirements including noise level. Operational, leakage, and performance tests shall be performed.
SCOPE
1.1 This specification covers commercial powered pot, pan and utensil washing sinks.
1.2 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regarded as standard. The values given in parentheses are mathematical conversions to SI units that are provided for information only and are not considered standard.
1.3 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.
