Diese Europa(ische Norm legt zwei Verfahren fest zur Beurteilung, ob ein Gummi- oder Kunststoffschlauch bei Temperaturen unterhalb der Umgebungstemperatur eine ausreichende Biegsamkeit beha(lt. Verfahren A ist fu(r nicht faltbare Schla(uche mit einem Nenndurchmesser bis einschließlich 25 geeignet. Es mißt die Zunahme der Steifigkeit im Vergleich zur Biegsamkeit bei einer Norm-Labortemperatur. Verfahren B ist ein einfacheres, qualitatives Verfahren, das fu(r Kontrollpru(fungen geeignet ist und fu(r Schlau(che mit einme Nenn- durchmesser bis einschließlich 100 anwendbar ist.

La présente norme internationale spécifie deux méthodes pour vérifier si un tuyaux en caoutchouc ou en plastique conserve une souplesse suffisante à des températures inférieures à l'ambiante. La méthode A est applicable aux tuyaux non aplatissables dont le diamètre nominal va jusqu'à 25. Elle mesure l'accroissement de rigidité par rapport à la flexibilité du tuyau à température normale de laboratoire. La méthode B est un essai qualitatif plus simple destiné aux essais de contrôle et est applicable aux tuyaux dont le diamètre nominal va jusqu'à et y compris 100.

1 Scope
This International Standard specifies two methods for assessing whether a rubber or plastics
hose retains adequate flexibility at sub-ambient temperatures.
Method A is applicable to non-collapsible hose with a nominal bore up to and including 25.
It measures the increase in stiffness compared to the flexibility at a standard laboratory
temperature.
Method B is a simpler, qualitative method suitable for control testing and is applicable to hose
with a nominal bore up to and including 100.

3 Method A - Sub-ambient temperature stiffness test
31 . Annaratus (see figure 1)
3.1.1 Torque wheel, having a diameter equal to twice the minimum bend radius specified for
the hose, provided with equipment for holding the hose tangential to the wheel, a suitable device
to bend the hose around the wheel, and a strain gauge and graphical recorder to measure the
torque with an accuracy of + 3 %. If the minimum bend radius is not specified the torque
wheel shall have a diameter equal to 12 times the nominal bore of the hose.

3.1.2 Cooling container, equipped with an agitator, a temperature-measuring device and a
roller having a diameter of 50 mm for guiding the hose.
The coolant shall not affect the hose to be tested and shall be used as prescribed in IS0 3383.
