Plastic piping systems - Mechanical joints between fittings and pressure pipes - Test method for leaktightness under negative pressure (ISO 3459:2015)

ISO 3459:2015 specifies two methods of testing for checking the leaktightness of assembled joints between mechanical fittings and plastic pressure pipes up to and including 63 mm. The test applies regardless of the design and material of the fitting used for jointing plastics pipe.
This test method is not applicable to fusion-welded joints.

Diese Internationale Norm legt zwei Prüfverfahren zur Prüfung der Dichtheit von montierten Verbindungen, (ausgenommen Schmelzschweißverbindungen) zwischen mechanischen Formstücken und thermoplastischen Druckrohren mit einem Durchmesser bis einschließlich 63 mm fest. Die Prüfung ist anwendbar unabhängig von Konstruktion und Werkstoff des Formstückes, das zum Verbinden thermoplastischer Rohre verwendet wird.

L'ISO 3459:2015 spécifie deux méthodes d'essai pour la vérification de l'étanchéité des assemblages entre raccords mécaniques et tubes sous pression en plastique dont le diamètre est inférieur ou égal à 63 mm. Cette méthode est applicable quelles que soient la conception et la matière du raccord utilisé pour le raccordement des tubes en plastique.
La présente méthode d'essai n'est pas applicable aux assemblages soudés par fusion.

This document (EN ISO 3459:2015) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 138 "Plastics pipes,

fittings and valves for the transport of fluids" in collaboration Technical Committee CEN/TC 155 “Plastics

piping systems and ducting systems” the secretariat of which is held by NEN.

This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical

text or by endorsement, at the latest by September 2015, and conflicting national standards shall be

withdrawn at the latest by September 2015.
