ISO 5817:2003 (corrected version:2005) provides quality levels of imperfections in fusion-welded joints (except for beam welding) in all types of steel, nickel, titanium and their alloys. It applies to material thickness above 0,5 mm. It covers fully penetrated butt welds and all fillet welds. The principles of ISO 5817:2003 (corrected version:2005) may also be applied to partial-penetration butt welds.

Diese Internationale Norm enthält Bewertungsgruppen von Unregelmäßigkeiten an Schmelz¬schwei߬verbindungen (ausgenommen Strahlschweißen) für alle Sorten von Stahl, Nickel, Titan und deren Legierungen. Sie gilt für Werkstückdicken größer als 0,5 mm. Sie behandelt voll durchgeschweißte Stumpfnähte und alle Arten von Kehlnähten. Die Grundsätze dieser Norm dürfen auch für teilweise durchgeschweißte Stumpfnähte angewendet werden.
Bewertungsgruppen für strahlgeschweißte Verbindungen an Stahl enthält ISO 13919-1.
Die drei Bewertungsgruppen sind so festgelegt, dass sie eine breite Anwendung in der schweißtechnischen Fertigung erlauben. Sie werden bezeichnet durch Kennbuchstaben B, C und D. Bewertungsgruppe B entspricht den höchsten Anforderungen an die Schweißnaht. Die Bewertungsgruppen beziehen sich auf die Fertigungs¬qualität und nicht auf die Gebrauchstauglichkeit (siehe 3.2) des gefertigten Erzeugnisses.
Diese Internationale Norm gilt für:
   unlegierte und legierte Stähle,
   Nickel und Nickellegierungen,
   Titan und Titanlegierungen,
   manuelles, mechanisiertes und automatisches Schweißen,
   alle Schweißpositionen,
   alle Schweißverbindungen, z. B. Stumpfnähte, Kehlnähte und Rohrabzweigungen,
   die folgenden Schweißprozesse und ihre zugeordneten Einzelprozesse nach ISO 4063:
   11 Metalllichtbogenschweißen ohne Gasschutz;
   12 Unterpulverschweißen;
   13 Metallschutzgasschweißen;
   14 Wolfram-Schutzgasschweißen;
   15 Plasmaschweißen;
   31 Gasschweißen mit Sauerstoff-Brenngas-Flamme (nur für Stahl).
Metallurgische Gesichtspunkte, z. B. Korngröße, Härte, werden von dieser Internationalen Norm nicht erfasst.

Soudage - Assemblages en acier, nickel, titane et leurs alliages soudés par fusion (soudage par faisceau exclu) - Niveaux de qualité par rapport aux défauts (ISO 5817:2003, version corrigée:2005, Corrigendum Technique 1:2006 inclus)

L'ISO 5817:2003 fournit des niveaux de qualité par rapport aux défauts dans les assemblages soudés par fusion (à l'exclusion du soudage par faisceau) sur tous types d'acier, de nickel, de titane et leurs alliages. Elle s'applique à des épaisseurs de matériau supérieures à 0,5 mm.
Trois niveaux de qualité sont donnés dans le but de permettre son application à une large gamme de fabrications soudées. Ils sont désignés par les symboles B, C et D. Le niveau de qualité B correspond à l'exigence la plus élevée pour la soudure terminée. Les niveaux de qualité se rapportent à la qualité de la fabrication et non à l'aptitude à l'emploi du produit fini.
L'ISO 5817:2003 s'applique
aux aciers alliés et non alliés;
au nickel et à ses alliages;
au titane et à ses alliages;
au soudage manuel, mécanisé et automatique;
à toutes les positions de soudage;
à tous les types de soudures, par exemple soudures bout à bout, soudures d'angle et piquages;
aux procédés de soudage suivants et à leurs sous-catégories définies dans l'ISO 4063:
11 soudage à l'arc avec électrode fusible sans protection gazeuse;
12 soudage à l'arc sous flux (en poudre);
13 soudage à l'arc avec électrode fusible sous protection gazeuse;
14 soudage à l'arc avec électrode réfractaire sous protection gazeuse;
15 soudage plasma;
31 soudage oxygaz (pour acier uniquement).
L'ISO 5817:2003 ne traite pas des aspects métallurgiques, par exemple grosseur de grain ou dureté.

The text of ISO 5817:2003, corrected version:2005, including Technical Corrigendum 1:2006
has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 44 "Welding and allied processes” of the
International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and has been taken over as EN ISO
5817:2007 by Technical Committee CEN/TC 121 "Welding", the secretariat of which is held by
DIN.

This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of
an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by February 2008, and conflicting national
standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by February 2008.

This document supersedes EN ISO 5817:2003.

According to the CEN/CENELEC Internal Regulations, the national standards organizations of
the following countries are bound to implement this European Standard: Austria, Belgium,
Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece,
