EN 4624:2010 specifies the characteristics of aerospace-series MJ thread inserts that are self-locking, use self-broaching keys, and are manufactured from heat‑resisting nickel‑base alloy NI‑PH1302 (Waspaloy) with silver plating. The standard covers configuration, dimensions, tolerances, materials, surface treatment and marking for normal and repair-size inserts used in aerospace structural and mechanical assemblies. Classification is given as 1 200 MPa / 800 °C (minimum tensile stress at ambient temperature / maximum exposure temperature).
