Ophthalmic optics - Spectacle frames - Lists of equivalent terms and vocabulary (ISO 7998:2005)

ISO 7998:2005 defines commonly used terms relating to frames for spectacles and eyeglasses and lists equivalent terms in English, French, Russian, German, Italian, Spanish, American English, Japanese (with phonetic transcription) and Chinese for parts of such frames.

Diese Internationale Norm legt allgemein übliche Begriffe im Zusammenhang mit Brillenfassungen fest und listet äquivalente Begriffe in Englisch, Französisch, Russisch, Deutsch, Italienisch, Spanisch, amerikanischem Englisch, Japanisch (mit phonetischer Umschrift) und Chinesisch für Teile besagter Fassungen auf.
Diese Norm gilt nicht für Schutzbrillen.
ANMERKUNG 1   Zusätzlich zu den Begriffen, die in den drei Amtssprachen der ISO (Englisch, Französisch und Russisch) verwendet werden, werden in dieser Internationalen Norm äquivalente Begriffe in Deutsch, Italienisch, Spanisch, amerikanischem Englisch, Japanisch (mit phonetischer Umschrift) und in Chinesisch angegeben; diese Begriffe wurden auf Ersuchen von ISO/TC 172 aufgenommen und wurden unter der Verantwortung der Mitgliedsinstitute von Deutschland (DIN), Italien (UNI), Spanien (AENOR), USA (ANSI), Japan (JISC) und China (SAC) veröffentlicht. Es können jedoch nur die in den Amtssprachen angegebenen Begriffe als ISO-Begriffe betrachtet werden.
ANMERKUNG 2   Die Abbildungen geben typische Beispiele wieder und beinhalten nicht alle möglichen Designvarianten, beispielsweise der Federgelenke.

Foreword


This document (EN ISO 7998:2005) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 172
"Optics and optical instruments" in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 170
"Ophthalmic optics", the secretariat of which is held by DIN.

This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of
an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by April 2006, and conflicting national
standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by April 2006.

This document supersedes EN ISO 7998:1996.

According to the CEN/CENELEC Internal Regulations, the national standards organizations of
the following countries are bound to implement this European Standard: Austria, Belgium,
Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary,
