Non-destructive testing of welds - Ultrasonic testing of welded joints

The 2nd paragraph shall read now :
"The techniques may also be used :
- on materials other than those stated ;
- on partial penetration welds ;
- with automated equipment
if required by specification.".
The 4th paragraph shall read now :
"The standard specifies four testing levels, each corresponding to a different probability of detection of imperfections. Guidance on the selection of testing levels A, B and C is given in annex A. The require-ments of the fourth testing level, which is intended for special applications, shall be in accordance with the general requirements of this standard and may only be used when defined by specification.".
The 5th paragraph shall read now :
"This standard may be used for the assess-ment of indications, for acceptance purposes, by either of the following methods:

The methods used shall be specified.".

Der zweite Absatz muss jetzt lauten:
¿Die Prüftechniken dürfen auch angewendet werden
¾ bei anderen Werkstoffen als aufgeführt;
¾ nicht voll angeschlossenen Schweißnähten;
¾ Prüfung mit automatisierten Anlagen;
wenn dies eine Spezifikation fordert.".
Der vierte Absatz muss jetzt lauten:
¿In dieser Norm sind vier Prüfklassen festgelegt, wovon jede einer unterschiedlichen Wahrscheinlichkeit des Nachweises von Unregelmäßigkeiten entspricht. Hilfestellung zur Wahl der Prüfklassen A ,B und C werden im Anhang A angegeben. Die vierte Prüfklasse wird bei besonderen Anwendungen verwendet und muss mit den allgemeinen Anforderungen dieser Norm übereinstimmen; sie darf nur angewendet werden, wenn es durch Spezifikation festgelegt ist.".
Der fünfte Absatz muss jetzt lauten:
¿Diese Norm darf auf Zulässigkeitsbetrachtungen für die Bewertung von Anzeigen mittels einer der folgenden Methoden angewendet werden:
...
Die angewendeten Methoden müssen festgelegt werden.".

Un guide du choix des niveaux de contrôle A, B et C est donné en annexe A. Les exigences relatives au quatrième niveau de contrôle, qui est prévu pour des applications spéciales, doivent être conformes aux exigences générales de la présente norme et peuvent être utilisées si définies par une spécification. ».
Le 5ème alinéa doit indiquer maintenant :
« La présente norme peut être utilisée pour l'évaluation des indications aux fins de réception par l'une des méthodes suivantes :

This amendment A1 modifies the European Standard EN 1714:1997; it was approved by CEN on 1 May 2002.
