This document describes the procedure for the measurement of the feed rate for thermal spraying with spray materials in powder form in a production environment.
The application of this document is essential if information on the feed rate of a spray material in powder form is required when using a thermal spraying method.
It is applicable to any thermal spraying method using spray materials in powder form (see EN ISO 14917) where the technical installation used allows the spray powder to be fed through without an activated spray gun.
The determination of the feed rate is mandatory for the preparation of thermal spray procedure specifications in accordance with EN 17002 and the determination of the deposition efficiency in accordance with EN ISO 17836.

Dieses Dokument legt das Verfahren für die Messung der Förderrate beim thermischen Spritzen mit pulverförmigen Spritzmaterialien unter Produktionsbedingungen fest.
Die Anwendung dieses Dokuments ist von grundlegender Bedeutung, wenn bei Einsatz eines Verfahrens zum thermischen Spritzen Informationen zur Förderrate eines pulverförmigen Spritzmaterials benötigt werden.
Es ist anwendbar für alle Verfahren des thermischen Spritzens mit pulverförmigen Spritzmaterialien (siehe EN ISO 14917), bei denen die verwendete technische Anlage die Zuführung des Spritzpulvers ohne eine aktivierte Spritzpistole ermöglicht.
Die Bestimmung der Förderrate ist für die Vorbereitung der thermischen Spritzanweisungen in Übereinstimmung mit EN 17002 und für die Bestimmung der Auftragrate in Übereinstimmung mit EN ISO 17836 zwingend erforderlich.

Le présent document spécifie le mode opératoire de mesurage du débit de matière lorsque la projection thermique est réalisée en utilisant des matériaux d’apport en poudre, dans un environnement de production.
Il est essentiel d’appliquer les dispositions du présent document si la mise en œuvre de la méthode de projection thermique nécessite de disposer d’informations sur le débit de matière d’un matériau d’apport se présentant sous forme de poudre.
Le présent document est applicable à toutes les méthodes de projection thermique utilisant des matériaux d’apport sous forme de poudre (voir l’EN ISO 14917) lorsque l’installation technique utilisée permet d’effectuer l’alimentation en poudre de projection sans actionner de pistolet de projection.
Il est obligatoire de déterminer le débit de matière pour la préparation des spécifications du mode opératoire de projection thermique conformément à l’EN 17002 et pour la détermination du rendement de dépôt selon l'EN ISO 17836.

Ta dokument opisuje postopek merjenja hitrosti dovajanja pri vročem brizganju s pršilom v obliki prahu v proizvodnem okolju.
Dokument je treba uporabiti, če so za uporabo metode vročega brizganja zahtevne informacije o hitrosti dovajanja pršila v obliki prahu.
Uporablja se za vse metode vročega brizganja s pršilom v obliki prahu (glej standard EN ISO 14917), pri katerih uporabljena tehnična namestitev omogoča nanos pršila v obliki prahu brez aktivacije razpršilne pištole.
Ugotavljanje hitrosti dovajanja je obvezno pri pripravi specifikacij postopka vročega brizganja v skladu s standardom EN 17002 in ugotavljanju učinkovitosti nanosa za vroče brizganje v skladu s standardom EN ISO 17836.

Introduction
The feed rate for thermal spraying with spray materials in powder form is a process parameter having
substantial impact on the quality of a coating and also on the cost efficiency of the coating process.
Although the determination of feed rate is one of the most frequently done measurements in thermal
spraying, the performance of the measurement often differs in coating shops, leading to problems with
respect to the following tasks:
— reaching the required coating quality in a reproducible manner;
— preparation of thermal spray procedure specifications in accordance with EN 17002;
— determination of the deposition efficiency for thermal spraying in accordance with EN ISO 17836;
— acceptance of the feed system in accordance with EN 1395-7.
The document gives guidance for the procedure of measurement.
1 Scope
This document specifies the procedure for the measurement of the feed rate for thermal spraying with
spray materials in powder form in a production environment.
The application of this document is essential if information on the feed rate of a spray material in powder
form is required when using a thermal spraying method.
