This European Standard lists visual strength grades, species and sources of timber, and specifies the strength classes from EN 338, to which they are assigned.
NOTE For the grades, species and sources included, there is long experience of use and/or satisfactory test data. The sources listed are therefore largely determined by existing commercial practice.

Dieses Dokument gibt visuelle Festigkeitsklassen, Holzarten und deren Herkunft an und legt die Festigkeitsklassen nach EN 338 fest, denen sie zugeordnet sind.
ANMERKUNG Für die angegebenen Sortierklassen, Holzarten und Herkünfte liegen langjährige praktische Erfahrungen und/oder befriedigende Prüfdaten vor. Die angegebene Herkunft orientiert sich daher weitestgehend an der gewerblichen Praxis.

Le présent document répertorie les classes visuelles de résistance, les essences et les origines de bois et spécifie les classes de résistance, fixées par l'EN 338, auxquelles elles se rapportent.
NOTE Pour les classes, essences et origines d'approvisionnement incluses, on doit pouvoir justifier d'une grande expérience d'utilisation et/ou de données d'essais satisfaisantes. Les origines sont donc largement déterminées par la pratique commerciale existante.

1 Scope This document lists visual strength grades, species and sources of timber, and specifies the strength classes from EN 338, to which they are assigned.
