Gravity drainage systems inside buildings - Part 2: Sanitary pipework, layout and calculation

This European Standard applies to waste water drainage systems which operate under gravity. It is applicalbe for drainage systems inside dwellings, commercial, institutional and industrial buildings. Differences in plumbing within Europe have led to a variety of systems being developed. Some of the major systems in use are described but this standard has not attempted to detail the intricacies of each system. Detailed information additional to that contained in this Standard may be obtained by referring to the technical documents listed in Annex A.

Diese Europäische Norm gilt für Entwässerungsanlagen, die unter Schwerkraft betrieben werden. Sie gilt für Entwässerungsanlagen innerhalb von Wohngebäuden, Geschäfts-, Instituts- und industriellen Gebäuden. Die Unterschiede in Planung und Bau von Entwässerungsanlagen in Europa haben zu einer Vielzahl von Anlagenausführungen geführt. Einige der gebräuchlichsten Anlagenarten werden nachfolgend beschrieben. Diese Norm beschreibt nicht die Einzelheiten jeder Anlagenausführung. Réseaux d'évacuation gravitaire à l'intérieur des bâtiments - Partie 2: Systèmes pour les eaux usées, conception et calculs

La présente Norme s'applique aux installations d'évacuation gravitaire des eaux résiduaires. Elle s'applique aux installations d'évacuation des eaux résiduaires dans des habitations, immeubles commerciaux, institutionnels, artisanaux et industriels. Les différentes habitudes d'installation en Europe ont généré une multitude de systèmes. Une partie des systèmes principaux utilisés sont décrits dans cette norme. La présente norme n'essaie pas de démontrer les détails et complexités de chaque système. Les documents dont la liste est donnée en annexe A contiennent des détails, lesquels peuvent être utilisés dans la cadre cette norme.

These products are intended to be installed where the three following conditions are met:
-   space limitation will not accommodate a gully with a 50 mm water seal;
-   the building does not exceed a ground-floor and three floors above;
-   at least two domestic sanitary appliances are installed in addition to the gully but with only one WC on the same branch (connection pipe) or secondary or branch ventilation is installed (see EN 12056 2:2000, 4.3.2 or 4.3.4.

NOTE   Limited application means that the number of users is small and the plant is located in the same room as the sanitary appliance(s) served by it ) which are installed in accordance with EN 12056–1 and the layout and calculation are in accordance with EN 12056–4.
This European Standard applies to lifting plants for limited applications designed for wastewater containing faecal matter, where there is another WC available above flood level, and the plants serve no more than a single WC to which it is directly connected (at a distance of max. 0,5 m) and one hand washbasin, one shower and one bidet provided no other sanitary appliance is directly or indirectly connected.
This European Standard also applies to lifting plants for limited applications designed for faecal free wastewater, where a maximum of one hand washbasin or kitchen sink plus one further appliance such as a bathtub or a washing machine or a shower or a dish washer or an urinal are connected. No other sanitary appliance shall be directly or indirectly connected.
This European Standard contains general requirements, basic construction and testing principles, together with information on materials.
Construction and testing requirements for non-return valves used in wastewater lifting plants for limited applications are given in EN 12050 4.
This European Standard does not apply for lifting plants for limited applications for wastewater containing faecal matter where WC flushing is carried out by pressure flush valve.
