This European Standard defines the requirements and method used for testing the mechanical durability of briquettes. It is applicable to persons and organisations that manufacture, plan, sell, erect or use machinery, equipment, tools and entire plants related to such briquettes, and to all persons and organisations involved in producing, purchasing, selling and utilising briquettes.
The durability is the measure of the resistance of densified fuels towards shocks and/or abrasion as a consequence of handling and transportation processes.

Diese Europäische Norm legt die Anforderungen und das Verfahren für die Prüfung der mechanischen Festigkeit von Briketts fest. Sie gilt für Personen und Organisationen, die im Zusammenhang mit diesen Briketts Maschinen, Ausrüstung, Werkzeuge und vollständige Anlagen herstellen, planen, verkaufen, montieren oder anwenden, und für alle Personen und Organisationen, die an der Herstellung, dem Einkauf, dem Verkauf und der Nutzung von Briketts beteiligt sind.
Die mechanische Festigkeit ist ein Maß für die Beständigkeit von gepressten Brennstoffen gegenüber Stoß und/oder Abrieb infolge von Handhabungs und Transportprozessen.

La présente Norme européenne définit la méthode d’essai de la durabilité mécanique des briquettes et les exigences correspondantes. Elle s’adresse aux fabricants, concepteurs, vendeurs, installateurs et utilisateurs de matériel, d’équipement, d’outils et d’usines complètes où sont utilisées ces briquettes ainsi qu’aux producteurs, acheteurs, vendeurs et utilisateurs de briquettes, qu’il s’agisse d’individus ou d’organisations.
La durabilité mécanique est la mesure de la résistance des combustibles solides aux chocs et/ou à l’abrasion au cours de la manutention et du transport.

Cilj tega evropskega standarda je opredeliti zahteve in metodo, ki se uporabljajo za preskušanje mehanske trdnosti briketov. Namenjen je osebam in organizacijam, ki proizvajajo, načrtujejo, prodajajo, postavljajo ali uporabljajo stroje, opremo, orodja in celotne obrate, povezane s takšnimi briketi, in vsem osebam in organizacijam, vključenim v proizvodnjo, nakup, prodajo in uporabo briketov. Trdnost je mera odpornosti zgoščenih goriv proti tresljajem in/ali površinski obrabi, do katerih pride zaradi postopkov rokovanja in prevoza.
