Bituminous mixtures - Test methods for hot mix asphalt - Part 8: Determination of void characteristics of bituminous specimens

This standard describes a procedure for calculating the percentage of air voids in a compacted bituminous specimen. The air voids content can be used as a mix- design criterion or as a parameter for evaluating the mixture after placing and compaction in the road.

Diese Europäische Norm legt ein Verfahren fest, mit dem prozentuale Anteil von Luftporen in einem verdichteten Asphaltprobekörper berechnet werden kann Die so errechneten werden als Kriterium bei einer Eignungsprüfung oder bei der Beurteilung der Mischung nach dem Einbau und der Verdichtung in der Straße verwendet.

La présente Norme européenne décrit la procédure permettant de calculer deux caractéristiques volumétriques d'une éprouvette bitumineuse compactée : le pourcentage de vides (Vm) et le pourcentage de vides du squelette granulaire comblés par le liant (VFB).
Cette méthode peut être utilisée pour les éprouvettes compactées en laboratoire ou les carottes prélevées dans la chaussée après répandage et compactage.
Ces caractéristiques volumétriques peuvent être employées comme critères de formulation ou comme paramètres d'évaluation du mélange après son répandage  et son compactage dans la chaussée.
