Acoustics - Guidelines for noise control in offices and workrooms by means of acoustical screens (ISO 17624:2004)

ISO 17624:2004 deals with the effectiveness of acoustical screens. It specifies the acoustical and operational requirements to be agreed upon between the supplier or manufacturer and the user of acoustical screens.
ISO 17624:2004 is applicable to the following types of acoustical screens: free-standing acoustical screens for offices, service areas, exhibition areas, and similar rooms; acoustical screens integrated in the furniture of such rooms; portable and removable acoustical screens for workshops; fixed room partitions with more than 10 % of the connecting area open and acoustically untreated.
Walls of partial acoustic enclosures and cabins which, together with the room boundary surfaces, also partition a room and provide more than 10 % open and acoustically untreated area, are also treated as acoustical screens.
ISO 17624:2004 is not applicable to cabinet walls and similar multi-layer walls whose thickness exceeds 0,2 m, nor to banners and other types of suspended baffles.

Akustik - Leitfaden für den Schallschutz in Büros und Arbeitsräumen durch Schallschirme (ISO 17624:2004)

Diese Internationale Norm behandelt die Wirksamkeit von Schallschirmen. Sie legt die schalltechnischen und
betriebstechnischen Anforderungen fest, die zwischen dem Hersteller oder Lieferanten und dem Nutzer von
Schallschirmen zu vereinbaren sind. Diese Internationale Norm ist auf die folgenden Arten von Schallschirmen
anwendbar:
a) freistehende Schallschirme für Büros, Dienstleistungsbereiche, Ausstellungsflächen und ähnliche Bereiche;
b) Schallschirme, die in die Möblierung solcher Räume integriert sind;
c) tragbare und versetzbare Schallschirme für Werkstatträume;
d) fest eingebaute Raumteiler, bei denen mehr als 10 % der an Nachbarbereiche angrenzenden Flächen offen
und nicht schalltechnisch behandelt sind.
Wände von Teilkapseln und Teilkabinen, die zusammen mit den Raumbegrenzungsflächen ebenfalls zu einer
Aufteilung des Raums führen und bei denen mehr als 10 % offen und nicht schalltechnisch behandelt sind, werden
ebenfalls als Schallschirme betrachtet.
ANMERKUNG Hinweise zu vollständigen Schallschutzkapseln sind in ISO 15667 enthalten.
Diese Internationalen Norm gilt nicht für Schrankwände und ähnliche mehrschichtig aufgebauten Wände, deren
Dicke 0,2 m überschreitet, ebenso wenig wie für Tücher und andere Arten von abgehängten Blenden.

Acoustique - Lignes directrices pour la réduction du bruit dans les bureaux et locaux de travail au moyen d'écrans acoustiques (ISO 17624:2004)

L'ISO 17624:2004 traite de l'efficacité des écrans acoustiques. Elle spécifie les exigences acoustiques et fonctionnelles sur lesquelles le fournisseur ou le fabricant des écrans acoustiques et l'utilisateur doivent se mettre d'accord.
L'ISO 17624:2004 est applicable aux types suivants d'écrans acoustiques: écrans acoustiques isolés pour les bureaux, les aires de service, les aires d'exposition et les salles du même genre; écrans acoustiques intégrés dans le mobilier de ces salles; écrans acoustiques portatifs et amovibles pour locaux de travail; cloisons fixes dans les salles comportant plus de 10 % de la surface de liaison ouverte et sans traitement acoustique.
Sont également traitées comme des écrans acoustiques les parois des enceintes et cabines acoustiques partielles qui, en conjonction avec les parois d'enveloppe d'une salle, en assurent également son cloisonnement et qui constituent une surface ouverte sans traitement acoustique représentant plus de 10 %.
L'ISO 17624:2004 ne s'applique pas aux parois d'armoire et aux parois multicouches si leur épaisseur dépasse 0,2 m. Elle ne s'applique également pas aux bannières et autres types de déflecteurs suspendus.

Foreword
The text of ISO 17624:2004 has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 43 " Acoustics” of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and has been taken over as EN ISO 17624:2004 by Technical Committee CEN/TC 43 " Acoustics ", the secretariat of which is held by DS.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by June 2005, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by June 2005.
According to the CEN/CENELEC Internal Regulations, the national standards organizations of the following countries are bound to implement this European Standard: Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and United Kingdom.
