Glass in building - Glazing and airborne sound insulation - Product descriptions and determination of properties
This European Standard assigns sound insulation values to all transparent, translucent and opaque glass products, described in the European Standards for basic, special basic or processed glass products, when intended to be used in glazed assemblies in buildings, and which exhibit properties of acoustic protection, either as a prime intention or as a supplementary characteristic.
This document outlines the procedure, by which glass products may be rated, according to their acoustic performance which enables assessment of compliance with the acoustic requirements of buildings.
Rigorous technical analysis of measurement data remains an option, but this standard is intended to enable the derivation of simpler indices of performance, which can be adopted with confidence by non-specialists.
By adopting the principles of this standard the formulation of acoustic requirements in Building Codes and for product specification to satisfy particular needs for glazing is simplified.
It is recognised that the acoustic test procedures contained within EN ISO 140-1 and EN ISO 140-3 relate only to glass panes and their combinations. Although the same principles should be followed as closely as possible, it is inevitable that some compromises are necessary, because of the bulkier construction of other glazing types, e.g. glass blocks, paver units, channel-shaped glass, structural glazing and structural sealant glazing. Guidelines on how to adapt the test procedures for these glazing types are offered in Clause 4.
All the considerations of this standard relate to panes of glass/glazing alone. Incorporation of them into windows may cause changes in acoustic performance as a result of other influences, e.g. frame design, frame material, glazing material/method, mounting method, air tightness, etc. Measurements of the sound insulation of complete windows (glass and frame) may be undertaken to resolve such issues.

Diese Europäische Norm legt Schalldämmwerte für alle durchsichtigen, durchscheinenden und opaken Glaserzeugnisse fest, die in Europäischen Normen über Basisglaserzeugnisse, spezielle Basisglaserzeugnisse oder über weiter verarbeitete Glaserzeugnisse mit Schallschutzeigenschaften, vorgesehen für den Gebrauch in verglasten Bauteilen von Gebäuden, beschrieben sind und die entweder als Hauptzweck oder als ergänzende Charakteristik Schall¬dämmung aufweisen.
Dieses Dokument gibt einen Überblick über das Verfahren, das bei der Bewertung von Glaserzeugnissen nach ihren akustischen Eigenschaften anzuwenden ist und mit dessen Hilfe sich die Übereinstimmung mit den für Gebäude geltenden akustischen Anforderungen beurteilen lässt.
Die strenge technische Analyse der Messwerte bleibt freigestellt, diese Norm ermöglicht jedoch die Herleitung von einfacheren Kenngrößen, auf die sich auch Personen, die keine Fachleute sind, verlassen können.
Wenn man sich die Grundsätze dieser Norm zu Eigen macht, wird die Formulierung von akustischen Anforderungen in Bauordnungen und von Produktspezifikationen für die Erfüllung besonderer Bedürfnisse für Glas vereinfacht.
Es ist anerkannt, dass sich die akustischen Prüfverfahren von EN ISO 10140 nur auf Glasscheiben und ihre Kombinationen beziehen. Auch wenn denselben Grundsätzen so eng wie möglich gefolgt werden sollte, ist nicht auszuschließen, dass einige Kompromisse aufgrund der umfangreichen Konstruktion anderer Verglasungsarten notwendig sind, z. B. für Glassteine, Betonglas, Profilbauglas, Glaskonstruktionen und geklebte Glaskonstruktionen. Abschnitt 4 enthält Richtlinien, wie die Prüfverfahren auf diese Glaserzeugnisse anzuwenden sind.
Alle Überlegungen dieser Norm beziehen sich nur auf Scheiben aus Glas/Glaserzeugnisseen.

La présente Norme européenne attribue des valeurs d’isolement acoustique à tous les produits verriers transparents, translucides et opaques décrits dans les Normes européennes relatives aux produits de base, aux produits de base spéciaux ou aux produits en verre traité, lorsqu’ils sont destinés à être utilisés dans des assemblages de vitrage de bâtiments, et qui présentent des propriétés de protection acoustique, que ce soit en première intention ou comme caractéristique supplémentaire.
Le présent document décrit le mode opératoire destiné à évaluer les produits verriers selon leur performance acoustique, cette dernière permettant de vérifier la conformité aux exigences acoustiques des bâtiments.
Une analyse technique rigoureuse des données de mesure reste une option, mais la présente norme est destinée à permettre de calculer des indices de performance plus simples, pouvant être adoptés en toute confiance par des non spécialistes.
L’adoption des principes de la présente norme permet de simplifier la formulation des exigences acoustiques dans les règles techniques de la construction et pour la spécification des produits dans le but de satisfaire les besoins spécifiques en matière de vitrage.
Il est reconnu que les méthodes d’essai acoustiques contenues dans l’EN ISO 10140 font uniquement référence aux vitrages et à leurs combinaisons. Même s’il convient de suivre le plus possible les mêmes principes, il est inévitable que certains compromis soient nécessaires, en raison de la construction plus volumineuse d’autres types de vitrage, par exemple des briques de verre, des dalles, du verre profilé, du vitrage extérieur collé et du vitrage à scellement structurel. Des lignes directrices relatives à la manière d’adapter les méthodes d’essai pour ces produits verriers sont données à l’Article 4.
Toutes les considérations de la présente norme font référence aux verres et produits verriers seuls.

Ta evropski standard dodeljuje vrednosti izolirnosti pred zvokom vsem prozornim, prosojnim in steklenim proizvodom, opisanim v evropskih standardih za osnovne, poosebne osnovne ali obdelane steklene proizvode, ko se uporabljajo v steklenih sklopih v stavbah in ki imajo značilnosti zvočne zaščite bodisi kot primarni namen ali kot dodatno lastnost.
Ta dokument navaja postopek, po katerem se stekleni proizvodi lahko razvrstijo glede na svoj zvočni učinek, kar omogoča oceno skladnosti z zvočnimi zahtevami stavb.
Stroga tehnična analiza izmerjenih podatkov še vedno ostaja možnost, vendar je ta standard namenjen izpeljavi preprostejših kazalnikov učinka, ki jih nestrokovnjaki lahko sprejmejo z zanesljivostjo.
S sprejetjem načel tega standarda se poenostavi formulacija zvočnih zahtev v gradbenih predpisih in v specifikaciji proizvodov, ki zadošča posebnim potrebam za steklo.
Priznava se, da postopki zvočnega preskušanja, ki jih vsebujeta EN ISO 140-1 in EN ISO 140-3, veljajo le za steklene šipe in njihove kombinacije. Čeprav je treba čim bolj upoštevati ista načela, so zaradi obsežnejše strukture drugih vrst stekla, npr. steklenih blokov, enot za tlakovanje, stekla v obliki kanala, strukturnega stekla in strukturnega tesnilnega stekla neizogibno potrebni nekateri kompromisi. Smernice o prilagajanju preskusnih postopkov za tovrstno steklo podaja klavzula 4.
Vsi vidiki v tem standardu se nanašajo samo na steklene šipe. Njihova vgradnja v okna lahko povzroči spremembe zvočnega učinka, ki so posledica drugih vplivov, npr. zasnove okvirjev, materiala okvirjev, materiala/metode zasteklitve, metode namestitve, nepredušnosti itd. Za reševanje takih vprašanj se lahko izvedejo meritve zvočne izolirnosti celotnih oken (stekla in okvirja).
