ISO 19334:2010 specifies a gas-chromatographic method for determining the amounts of certain rosin acids in gum rosin using capillary gas-chromatographic separation of the volatile methyl esters of these acids. It is intended primarily to permit the identification of gum rosin from specific species of pine trees. It is not designed for the quantitative analysis of gum rosin. If such analyses are required, the internal-standard technique specified in ASTM D 5974 should be used.

Diese Internationale Norm legt ein gaschromatographisches Verfahren zum Bestimmen der Zusammen¬setzung bestimmter Harzsäuren in Kolophonium mittels Kapillar-Gaschromatographie der flüchtigen Methylester dieser Säuren fest. Es wird hauptsächlich zur Identifizierung der Herkunft des Kolophoniums bestimmter Kiefernarten eingesetzt. Es wird nicht zur quantitativen Analyse von Kolophonium eingesetzt. Falls solche Analysen benötigt werden, sollte das Verfahren mit internen Standards nach ASTM D 5974 angewendet werden.

L'ISO 19334:2010 spécifie une méthode par chromatographie en phase gazeuse permettant de déterminer la quantité de certains acides résiniques dans la colophane par séparation par chromatographie en phase gazeuse sur colonne capillaire des esters méthyliques volatils de ces acides. Elle est essentiellement destinée à l'identification de la colophane des essences spécifiques de pins. Elle n'a pas été élaborée pour l'analyse quantitative de la colophane. Si de telles analyses sont nécessaires, il convient d'utiliser la méthode de l'étalon interne spécifiée dans l'ASTM D 5974.

ISO 19334:2010 določa plinsko kromatografsko metodo za določanje količin določenih kislin kolofonije v kolofonijah z uporabo kapilarnega plinsko kromatografskega ločevanja hlapnih metilnih estrov teh kislin. Namenjen je predvsem identifikaciji kolofonije iz določenih vrst borovca. Ni primeren za količinsko analizo kolofonije. Če so potrebne take analize, se mora uporabiti tehnika notranjega standarda, ki jo določa ASTM D 5974.

The text of ISO 19334:2010 has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 35 “Paints and varnishes” of
the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and has been taken over as EN ISO 19334:2011 by
Technical Committee CEN/TC 139 “Paints and varnishes” the secretariat of which is held by DIN.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical
text or by endorsement, at the latest by October 2011, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at
the latest by October 2011.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of patent

This document specifies a method for determining the non-volatile-matter content by mass of paints, varnishes, binders for paints and varnishes, polymer dispersions and condensation resins such as phenolic resins (resols, novolak solutions etc.).
The method is also applicable to formulated dispersions containing fillers, pigments and other auxiliaries (e.g. thickeners, film-forming agents).
NOTE 1    The non-volatile-matter content of a product is not an absolute quantity but depends upon the temperature and period of heating used for the determination. Consequently, when using this method, only relative and not true values for non-volatile-matter content are obtained owing to solvent retention, thermal decomposition and evaporation of low molecular mass constituents. The method is therefore primarily intended for testing different batches of the same type of product.
NOTE 2    This method is suitable for synthetic rubber lattices, provided heating for a specific period of time is considered appropriate (ISO 124 specifies heating until the loss in mass of a 2 g test portion following successive periods of heating is less than 0,5 mg).
NOTE 3    In-house methods for determining non-volatile matter often include drying with infrared or microwave radiation. Standardization of such methods is not possible, since they are not generally applicable. Several polymer compositions tend to decompose during such treatment and therefore give incorrect results.

This document specifies a method for assessing the performance of photocatalytic inorganic materials contained in cement mortars and/or limes or ceramic-based matrices, paints or materials deposited as thin films or coatings on a variety of substrates for the photocatalytic abatement of nitric oxide in the gas phase. This method does not apply to the assessment of samples to be applied with flow perpendicular to the surface or flow permeating the surface itself as polymeric and paper filters, honeycomb structures and suchlike.
The performance for the photocatalytic sample under test is evaluated by measuring the degradation rate of nitric oxide (NO) using the method specified herein. The photocatalytic abatement rate is calculated from the observed rate by eliminating the effects of mass transfer. The intrinsic photocatalytic abatement rate is an intrinsic property of the material tested and makes it possible to distinguish the photocatalytic activities of various products with an absolute scale defined with physical and engineering meaning.
For the measurements and calculations described in this document the concentration of nitrogen oxides (NOx) is defined as the stoichiometric sum of nitric oxide (NO) and nitrogen dioxide (NO2).
