Sanitary appliances - Wash basins - Functional requirements and test methods

This European Standard specifies the functional requirements and test methods for wash basins for domestic purposes.
NOTE 1   For the purposes of this standard the term "domestic purposes" includes use in hotels, accommodation for students, hospitals and similar buildings, except when special medical provisions are required.
NOTE 2   All drawings are examples only. The shape of the appliance is left to the discretion of the manufacturer.

Diese Europäische Norm legt Funktionsanforderungen und Prüfverfahren für Waschbecken für den Hausgebrauch fest.
ANMERKUNG 1   Der Begriff für den Hausgebrauch in dieser Norm schließt die Verwendung in Hotels, Studentenwohnheimen, Krankenhäusern und ähnlichen Einrichtungen ein; ausgenommen ist die medizinische Verwendung.
ANMERKUNG 2   Alle Bilder sind nur beispielhaft. Die endgültige Form des Gegenstandes bleibt dem Ermessen des Herstellers überlassen.

Appareils sanitaires - Lavabos - Exigences fonctionnelles et méthodes d'essai

La présente Norme européenne spécifie les prescriptions fonctionnelles et les méthodes d’essai applicables aux lavabos à usage domestique.
NOTE 1   Pour les besoins de la présente norme, l’expression « à usage domestique » comprend les utilisations dans les hôtels, les logements d’étudiants, les hôpitaux et bâtiments similaires, sauf lorsque des dispositions médicales spéciales sont requises.
NOTE 2   Tous les schémas ne sont donnés qu’à titre d’exemples. La forme de l’appareil est laissée au choix du fabricant.

For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply. 3.1 wash basin
sanitary appliance primarily intended for washing the upper parts of the body, with one or more bowls, each with a waste outlet hole, with or without overflow and with or without taphole(s) NOTE The various types of wash basins are differentiated by the methods of mounting. The main types are the following: 3.1.1 wall-hung wash basin wash basin attached directly to a wall (see Figures 1 and 2)
