Ta standard obravnava varnost električnih toplotnih črpalk, vključno s toplotnimi črpalkami za gospodinjsko vročo vodo, klimatskimi napravami in sušilniki zraka z zaprtimi gnanimi kompresorji. Najvišja nazivna napetost ne sme presegati 250 V za enofazne naprave in 600 V za vse druge naprave. Navedene naprave so lahko sestavljene iz enega sestava ali več. Če zajemajo več kot en sestav, se morajo sestavi uporabljati skupaj, zahteve pa temeljijo na uporabi združenih sestavov. Dodaten grelnik ali ukrepi za njihovo ločeno namestitev spadajo v področje uporabe tega standarda, vendar to velja le za grelnike, ki so zasnovani kot del naprave, pri čemer so kontrole vgrajene v napravo.

This amendment A1 modifies the European Standard EN 60335-2-40:2003; it was approved by CENELEC on
2005-09-01. CENELEC members are bound to comply with the CEN/CENELEC Internal Regulations which
stipulate the conditions for giving this amendment the status of a national standard without any alteration.

Up-to-date lists and bibliographical references concerning such national standards may be obtained on
application to the Central Secretariat or to any CENELEC member.

This amendment exists in three official versions (English, French, German). A version in any other language
made by translation under the responsibility of a CENELEC member into its own language and notified to the
Central Secretariat has the same status as the official versions.

Foreword
A proposal to endorse a future amendment to IEC 60335-2-40:2002 based on 61D/125/CDV, document
CLC/TC 61(SEC)1471, was discussed during the Balsthal meeting of CENELEC TC 61 in June 2004,
when it was decided to submit the corresponding FDIS, document 61D/138/FDIS, to the formal vote
together with common modifications prepared by CENELEC TC 61.
The draft was circulated in March 2005 and was approved by CENELEC as Amendment A1 to
EN 60335-2-40:2003 on 2005-09-01.
The following dates are applicable:
