IEC 62553:2012(E) is intended to establish measuring methods that enable the objective evaluation of the performance of transmission networks so as to make stable DTTB services a reality and establish a technical baseline, such as a definition of technical terms, to standardize measuring methods. The measurement methods described are intended for digital terrestrial television transmission network test and validation.

IEC 62553:2012 vise à établir des méthodes de mesure qui permettent d’évaluer objectivement le rendement des réseaux de transmission afin de faire de la stabilité des services de la DTTB une réalité et d’établir une base technique, telle qu’une définition des termes techniques, afin de normaliser les méthodes de mesure. Les méthodes de mesure décrites sont destinées au test et à la validation du réseau de transmission numérique terrestre.

This European Standard describes the SAT>IP communication protocol. It enables a SAT>IP server to forward satellite delivered signals to SAT>IP clients over IP networks. The typical use case would be the transport of television programs that were received from the satellite by the SAT>IP server to the SAT>IP client via the IP network. SAT>IP specifies a control protocol as well as the media transport (Figure 1). SAT>IP is not a device specification. The SAT>IP protocol distinguishes between SAT>IP clients and SAT>IP servers. SAT>IP Clients SAT>IP clients may reside in set-top boxes equipped with an IP interface or may be implemented as software applications running on programmable hardware such as Tablets, PCs, Smartphones, Connected Televisions. SAT>IP Servers SAT>IP servers may take various forms ranging from large MDU headends servicing whole buildings or communities to in-home IP multiswitches to simple IP adapters for a set-top box to, ultimately, IP LNBs. Actual devices may be clients or servers or both depending on their feature set.

It also defines a software environment that allows multiple application programs to be interoperable on a single receiver unit by sharing the fixed resources of the receiver, and it provides a set of interfaces that the T-DMB middleware and the ASIC specific software use.

The main changes with respect to the previous edition are: - DVB-H has been included as a part of the main specification; - All the performance figures have bee revised as new simulation results have been made available as well as new reference receivers for DVB-H have been developed; - DVB-H now includes all the different MPE-FEC code rates; - New portable indoor and portable outdoor channel models have been included as well as performance figures for those; - A new 2x TU-6 mobile SFN test channel has been included; - A new L4 linearity pattern has been added; - Dedicated performance figures for DVB-H for S1, S2, L1 to L4 interference patterns have been included; - A new GSM-interference measurement method has been added. The contents of the corrigendum of July 2008 have been included in this copy.
