(Main)Household and similar electrical appliances - Safety - Part 2-109: Particular requirements for UV radiation water treatment appliances
Household and similar electrical appliances - Safety - Part 2-109: Particular requirements for UV radiation water treatment appliances
IEC 60335-2-109:2010 deals with the safety of UV radiation water treatment appliances for household and similar purposes, their rated voltage being not more than 250 V. Appliances not intended for normal household use but that nevertheless may be a source of danger to the public, such as appliances intended to be used by laymen in shops and in light industry and farms, are within the scope of this standard. The attention of National Committees is drawn to the fact that equipment manufacturers and testing organizations may need a transitional period following publication of a new, amended or revised IEC publication in which to make products in accordance with the new requirements and to equip themselves for conducting new or revised tests. It is the recommendation of the committee that the content of this publication be adopted for implementation nationally not earlier than 12 months or later than 36 months from the date of publication.
pomanjkanje izkušenj in znanja preprečujejo varno uporabo aparata brez nadzora ali navodil;
– igranje otrok z aparatom.
OPOMBA 101: Upoštevati je treba dejstvo, da
– so za aparate za uporabo v vozilih ali na krovih ladij ali zračnih plovil lahko potrebni dodatni standardi;
– črpalke (IEC 60335-2-41);
- svetila za akvarije (IEC 60598-2-11);
- svetila za plavalne bazene in podobne uporabe (IEC 60598-2-18);
- aparate za izključno strokovno uporabo;

Introduction
p Add:
An investigation by CENELEC TC 61 has shown that all risks from products within the scope of this
standard are fully covered by the Low Voltage Directive, 2006/95/EC. For products having mechanical
moving parts, a risk assessment in accordance with the Machinery Directive, 2006/42/EC, has shown that
the risks are mainly of electrical origin and consequently this directive is not applicable. However, the
relevant essential safety requirements of the Machinery Directive are covered by this standard together
with the principal objectives of the Low Voltage Directive.
