Auxiliaries for lamps - Capacitors for use in tubular fluorescent and other discharge lamp circuits - General and safety requirements

This International Standard states the requirements for both self-healing and non-self-healing continuously rated a.c. capacitors of up to and including 2,5 kVAr, and not less than 0,1 µF, having a rated voltage not exceeding 1 000 V, which are intended for use in discharge lamp circuits operating at 50 Hz or 60 Hz and at altitudes up to 3 000 m.

La présente Norme internationale énonce les exigences pour les condensateurs autorégénérateurs et non autorégénérateurs pour usage permanent en courant alternatif, d'une puissance inférieure ou égale à 2,5 kVAr, de capacité supérieure à 0,1 µF et dont la tension assignée n'excède pas 1 000 V, qui sont destinés à être utilisés dans les circuits de lampes à décharge fonctionnant à 50 Hz ou 60 Hz à des altitudes jusqu'à 3 000 m.

Ta mednarodni standard navaja zahteve tako za samoozdravljive kot nesamoozdravljive kondenzatorje za neprekinjeni nazivni tok zmogljivosti največ 2,5 kVAr in najmanj 0,1 µF z nazivno napetostjo največ 1000 V, ki so namenjeni za uporabo v tokokrogih s sijalkami, ki delujejo pri frekvenci 50/60 Hz in nadmorski višini največ 3000 m. OPOMBA: Te sijalke in povezane dušilke so obravnavane v ustreznih standardih IEC 60081, IEC 60901, IEC 60188, IEC 60192, IEC 60662 in IEC 61167 ter IEC 61347-2-8 in IEC 61347-2-9. Zajema kondenzatorje, namenjene za povezavo v sklopu, povezavo zaporedno s krogotokom sijalke ali delujočo kombinacijo obeh možnosti. Zajema samo impregnirane ali neimpregnirane kondenzatorje z dielektrikom iz papirja, plastične folije ali kombinacije obojega, bodisi z metalizirano folijo bodisi z elektrodami kovinske folije. Ta standard ne zajema kondenzatorjev za preprečevanje radijskih motenj, zahteve za katere so podane v standardu IEC 60384-14. Preskusi, obravnavani v tem standardu, so tipski preskusi. Foreword
The text of document 34C/720/FDIS, future edition 2 of IEC 61048, prepared by SC 34C, Auxiliaries for
lamps, of IEC TC 34, Lamps and related equipment, was submitted to the IEC-CENELEC parallel vote
and was approved by CENELEC as EN 61048 on 2006-05-01.
This European Standard replaces EN 61048:1993 + A1:1996 +A2:1999.
In this EN 61048:2006 conformity of production has been changed from "informative" to "normative", thus
providing a higher degree of safety for capacitors.
The following dates were fixed:
– latest date by which the EN has to be implemented
at national level by publication of an identical
national standard or by endorsement (dop) 2007-02-01
– latest date by which the national standards conflicting
with the EN have to be withdrawn (dow) 2009-05-01
Annex ZA has been added by CENELEC.
