Assessment of power quality - Characteristics of electricity supplied by public networks

IEC TS 62749:2020 is available as IEC TS 62749:2020 RLV which contains the International Standard and its Redline version, showing all changes of the technical content compared to the previous edition.
IEC TS 62749:2020 specifies the expected characteristics of electricity at the SUPPLY TERMINALS of public low, medium and high voltage, 50 Hz or 60 Hz, networks.
NOTE 1 The boundaries between the various voltage levels can be different for different countries/regions. In the context of this TS, the following terms for system voltage are used:
- low voltage (LV) refers to less than or equal to 1 kV;
- medium voltage (MV) refers to between 1 kV and 35 kV;
- high voltage (HV) refers to between 35 kV and 230 kV.
While power quality is related to EMC in a number of ways this document is not an EMC publication. This second edition cancels and replaces the first edition published in 2015. This edition constitutes a technical revision. This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition:
a) minimum number of remaining data for weekly analysis,
b) improvement of the compatibility between EN 50160 and IEC TS 62749,
c) further explanation of the conception of daily sliding window,
d) further explanation of the aggregation method used for events,
e) further explanation of the relation between Power Quality and EMC,
f) addition of a new definition of mains communicating system (MCS),
g) addition of a new Annex G: Other phenomena,
h) transfer of the main content of IEC TR 62510 to IEC TS 62749.

Electrostatics - Part 2-1: Measurement methods - Ability of materials and products to dissipate static electric charge

IEC 61340-2-1:2015 describes test methods for measuring the rate of dissipation of static charge of insulating and static dissipative materials and products. It includes a generic description of test methods and detailed test procedures for specific applications. The two test methods for measuring charge decay time, one using corona charging and one using a charged metal plate are different and may not give equivalent results. Nevertheless, each method has a range of applications for which it is best suited. The corona charging method is suitable for evaluating the ability of materials, e.g. textiles, packaging, etc., to dissipate charge from their own surfaces. The charged metal plate method is suitable for evaluating the ability of materials and objects such as gloves, finger cots, hand tools, etc. to dissipate charge from conductive objects placed on or in contact with them. The charged plate method may not be suitable for evaluating the ability of materials to dissipate charge from their own surfaces. In addition to its general application, this horizontal standard is also intended for use by technical committees in the preparation of standards in accordance with the principles laid down in IEC Guide 108. This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition:
a) the first edition supported requirements in IEC TR 61340-5-1, but with the revision of IEC TR 61340-5-1 into an International Standard, this support is no longer required; references to IEC 61340-5-1 have been removed;
b) the introduction gives additional information on when charge decay time measurements are appropriate, and the applications for which each of the two test methods are best suited;
c) procedures for performance verification of measuring instruments for the corona charging method have been added. It has the status of a horizontal standard in accordance with IEC Guide 108.

IEC 62631-3-4:2019 covers procedures for the determination of insulation resistance and volume resistivity of insulating materials by applying DC-voltage and temperatures up to 800 °C. The typical application materials include high temperature mica plate and alumina ceramics.
This edition of IEC 62631-3-4 cancels and replaces IEC 60345 “Method of test for electrical resistance and resistivity of insulating materials at elevated temperatures”, published in 1971. This edition constitutes a technical revision.
This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to IEC 60345:  
The revised standard becomes part of the series IEC 62631-3-x. Title of the standard is changed and adapted to the series as Part 3-4.
Clauses 2 "Normative references", 3 "Terms and definitions", and 4 "Significance" are added.
Subclauses 5.2 "Power supply, Voltage", 5.3.1.2 "Number of test specimens" and 5.3.1.3 "Conditioning and pre-treatment of test specimens" are added.
In 5.3.5 "Special precautions during measurements", errors analysis in the measurement of current are modified, and aligned with IEC 62631-3-1.
In 6.2 "Increasing the temperature by steps (method B)", the method for more than one specimen is removed.
The standard atmospheric conditions for testing and conditioning, especially the temperature, are replaced according to IEC 60212.
The circuit diagram of test apparatus is modified, and the structure diagram and pictures of test apparatus are added in Annex A.
The orders of part clauses are adjusted.

IEC TR 61340-5-5:2018(E) discusses packaging material requirements for electrostatic discharge sensitive items (ESDS) as well as non–ESDS which can apply to packaging materials such as embossed carrier tape, trays, tubes (stick magazines), rails and others used in back end line processing and parts handling where test methods described in other standards are, for the most part, inadequate.
