This document specifies general construction, performance and material requirements for the tapware FRT, PN 10. The application in the drinking water installation with a static pressure of maximum 1,0 MPa (10 bar) and a distribution temperature of maximum 25 °C (PWC).
The conditions of use are according to the following Table 1:

Dieses Dokument legt allgemeine Konstruktions-, Betriebs- und Materialanforderungen für die Armaturen FRT, PN 10 fest. Die Anwendung in der Trinkwasserinstallation mit einem statischen Druck von maximal 1,0 MPa (10 bar) und einer Verteilungstemperatur von maximal 25 °C (PWC).

Le présent document spécifie les exigences générales relatives à la conception, à la performance et aux matériaux pour la robinetterie FRT, PN 10. L’application dans l’installation d’eau potable avec une pression statique de 1,0 MPa (10 bar) maximum et une température de distribution de 25 °C (EPF) maximum.
Les conditions d’utilisation sont conformes au Tableau 1 suivant :

Expansion groups shall be fitted to the cold potable water supply only for expansion purposes, e.g. of storage water heaters, having a maximum distribution temperature of 95 °C.
Expansion groups limit pressure in the water heater to which they are fitted, that is produced by thermal expansion of the water, prevent the backflow of water into the supply pipe and prevent the discharged water to get into contact with the water in the water heater.
Expansion groups do not control temperature and alone do not constitute the protection required for storage water heaters.

Tempering valves reduce the temperature of domestic hot water for distribution throughout the hot water system. The valves are designed for use with hot water up to 90 °C and cold water of less than 25 °C, for use in water supply systems in buildings.
The valves are typically intended to be used with storage water heaters to provide tempered hot water to the terminal fitting. They are not intended to control the comfort temperature at the point of use.
Tempering valves control the distribution temperature from a water heater to a present value or an adjustable range, both between 45 °C and 65 °C.
The essential characteristics according to the mandate which will be dealt with in this standard will be:
a)   Dimensional tolerances
b)   Internal pressure; tightness
c)   Mechanical strength (Torsional strength, bending strength)
d)   Resistance to high and low temperatures
