This standard specifies requirements for fire blankets which are not re-usable and are intended for use by one person. It is applicable to fire blankets primarily intended for extinguishing cooking oil fires. NOTE: It is anticipated that they can also be used on fires involving personal clothing

Die vorliegende Norm legt die Anforderungen an Löschdecken fest, die nicht wiederverwendbar und zur Benutzung durch eine einzelne Person bestimmt sind. Sie findet Anwendung auf Löschdecken, die hauptsächlich zum Löschen von Speiseölbränden vorgesehen sind. ANMERKUNG: Es ist zu erwarten, dass die Löschdecken auch zum Löschen von Bränden verwendet werden können, die auf die persönliche Kleidung übergrei- fen.

La présente norme spécifie les exigences pour les couvertures anti-feu a usage unique et prévues pour une seule personne. Elle s'applique aux couverturesanti-feu essentiellement destinées a éteindre les feux d'huile de cuisine. NOTE: Il est prévu qu'elles peuvent également etre utilisées sur des feux impliquant des vetements individuels.
