Protective clothing for industrial workers exposed to heat (excluding firefighters' and welders' clothing)

This European Standard is applicable to protective clothing for  workers exposed to heat. The clothing consists of outer garments made from flexible material to protect specific parts of the body. Hoods and gaiters are included but all other types of protection for the head, hands and feet are excluded.  This European Standard specifies the performance requirements and methods of test for the protective clothing materials and gives design recommendations for the clothing where necessary.  Protective clothing complying with this European Standard is intended to protect workers against brief contact with flame and against at least one type of heat. The heat may be in the form of convective heat, radiant heat, large molten metal splahes, or a combination of these heat hazards.  1. Scope was modified by Amendment A1:1998

Schutzkleidung für hitzeexponierte Industriearbeiter (ausschließlich Feuerwehr- und Schweißerkleidung)

Diese Europäische Norm ist für hitzeexponierte Industriearbeiter gedacht (ausgeschlossen ist Kleidung für Feuerwehrleute und für Schweißer). Die Kleidung besteht aus einer Überkleidung, die aus flexiblem Material zum Schutz spezifischer Körperregionen gemacht ist. Hauben und Gamaschen sind berücksichtigt, aber alle anderen Arten des Schutzen für den Kopf, die Hände und Füße sind ausgeschlossen.

La présente norme européenne est applicable aux vetements de protection pour les travailleurs de l'industrie exposés a la chaleur (excepté les vetements de sapeurs-pompiers et de soudeurs). Le vetement est composé d'articles d'habillement de dessus constitués de matériaux souples destinés a protéger des parties spécifiques du corps. Les cagoules et les guetres sont incluses mais tous les autres types de protection de la tete, des mains et des pieds sont exclus.
