ETSIETSIEN301843-1V1.1.1(2001-02)133Definitionsandabbreviations3.1DefinitionsForthepurposesofthepresentdocument,thefollowingtermsanddefinitionsapply:ancillaryequipment:equipment(apparatus),usedinconnectionwithareceiver,transmitterortransceiverisconsideredasanancillaryequipment(apparatus)if:-theequipmentisintendedforuseinconjunctionwithareceiverortransmittertoprovideadditionaloperationaland/orcontrolfeaturestotheradioequipment,(e.g.toextendcontroltoanotherpositionorlocation);and-theequipmentcannotbeusedonastandalonebasistoprovideuserfunctionsindependentlyofareceiverortransmitter;and-thereceiverortransmittertowhichitisconnected,iscapableofprovidingsomeintendedoperationsuchastransmittingand/orreceivingwithouttheancillaryequipment(i.e.itisnotasub-unitofthemainequipmentessentialtothemainequipmentbasicfunctions)artificialantenna:forthepurposeofEMCtests,theantennaport(s)oftheEquipmentUnderTest(EUT)shallbeterminatedwithanon-radiating50Ωtermination(artificialantenna)unlessthereisarequirementtoapplyaRadioFrequency(RF)inputsignaltothereceiverantennaportcontinuousphenomena(continuousdisturbance):electromagneticdisturbance,theeffectsofwhichonaparticulardeviceorequipmentcannotberesolvedintoasuccessionofdistincteffects(IEC60050-161[13])enclosureport:physicalboundaryoftheapparatusthroughwhichelectromagneticfieldsmayradiateorimpinge.Inthecaseofintegralantennaequipment,thisportisinseparablefromtheantennaportintegralantenna:antennadesignedtobeconnecteddirectlytotheequipmentwithorwithouttheuseofanexternalconnectorandconsideredtobepartoftheequipment.Anintegralantennamaybefittedinternallyorexternallytotheequipment.Anantennawhichmaynotberemovedduringthetests,accordingtothemanufacturer'sstatement.manufacturer:manufactureroftheequipment,orhisauthorizedrepresentative,oranequipmentsuppliertotheEuropeanmarketmobileequipment:marinereceiver,transmitterortransmitter/receiver(transceiver)intendedforinstallationanduseonboardshipsoperatingfrequencyrange:range(s)ofradiofrequenciescoveredbytheEquipmentUnderTest(EUT)
