Paints and varnishes - Determination of resistance to liquids - Part 1: General methods (ISO 2812-1:1993)

This international standard specifies a procedure for the comprehensive determination of the resistance to water immersion of a paint or paint system.

Foreword
IS0 (the International Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide
federation of national standards bodies (IS0 member bodies). The work
of preparing International Standards is normally carried out through IS0
technical committees. Each member body interested in a subject for
which a technical committee has been established has the right to be
represented on that committee. International organizations, governmental
and non-governmental, in liaison with ISO, also take part in the work. IS0
collaborates closely with the International Electrotechnical Commission
(I EC) on all matters of electrotechnical standardization.
Draft International Standards adopted by the technical committees are
circulated to the member bodies for voting. Publication as an International
Standard requires approval by at least 75 % of the member bodies casting
a vote.
International Standard IS0 2812-l was prepared by Technical Committee
lSO/TC 35, Paints and varnishes, Sub-Committee SC 9, General test
methods for paints and varnishes.
IS0 2812 consists of the following parts, under the general title Paints and
varnishes - Determination of resistance to liquids:
- Part I: General methods
- Part 2: Water immersion method
This part of IS0 2812 cancels and replaces IS0 2812:1974, of which it
constitutes an editorial and minor technical revision.
Annex A forms an integral part of this part of IS0 2812.
