This European Standard applies to manholes, when made from glass-reinforced thermosetting plastics (GRP) based on polyester resin (UP) and inspection chambers, when made from glass-reinforced thermosetting plastics (GRP) based on polyester resin (UP) which are intended to be used with inverts which are at a depth not exceeding 2 m. These products are intended to be used within a drain or sewer system operating without pressure or occasionally at a head of pressure up to 1 bar. It applies to products, and their joints, intended for use in buried installations and to be installed by open-trench techniques. The units have a circular shape with nominal sizes not exceeding the maximum nominal size specified in EN 14364.

Diese Europäische Norm gilt für:
a) Kontrollschächte, vorgesehen für Anwendungen mit einer Sohltiefe bis 2 m;
b) Einsteigschächte aus glasfaserverstärkten thermoplastischen Kunststoffen (GFK) auf der Basis von ungesättigtem
Polyesterharz (UP).
Diese Produkte sind für die Verwendung mit Entwässerungssystemen vorgesehen, die drucklos (als Freispiegelleitungen)
oder gelegentlich mit einem Innendruck bis 1 bar betrieben werden.
Sie gilt für Produkte und deren Verbindungen, die für die Erdverlegung und für die Verlegung im offenen Rohrschacht
vorgesehen sind.
Die Baueinheiten haben einen kreisförmigen Querschnitt mit Nennweiten, die die in EN 14364 festgelegte
maximale Nennweite nicht überschreiten.
Der vorgesehene Verwendungszweck dieser Produkte ist die Schaffung eines Zugangs zu erdverlegten Entwässerungssystemen
für die Ableitung von Abwasser bei Temperaturen bis 50 °C, die drucklos (als Freispiegelleitungen)
oder gelegentlich mit einem Innendruck bis 1 bar außerhalb von Gebäuden unter Verkehrslast
betrieben werden.
Sie legt Definitionen, Anforderungen und Eigenschaften für Einsteigschächte, Kontrollschächte, Verbindungen,
Werkstoffe, Prüfverfahren und die Kennzeichnung fest.

La présente Norme européenne s’applique aux
a)   boîtes de branchement et d’inspection, destinées à être installées avec un fil d’eau (cunette) situé à une profondeur n’excédant pas 2 m,
b)   regards fabriqués à partir de plastiques thermodurcissables renforcés de verre (PRV) à base de résine de polyester (UP).
Ces produits sont destinés à être utilisés dans des réseaux de branchements ou d’assainissement gravitaire ou occasionnellement sous une pression inférieure ou égale à 1 bar.
Elle s’applique aux produits et à leurs assemblages, destinés à des installations enterrées et posés par des techniques de tranchées ouvertes.
Les éléments ont une forme circulaire avec des dimensions nominales n’excédant pas la dimension nominale maximale spécifiée dans l’EN 14364.
Ces produits sont destinés à être utilisés pour fournir un moyen d’accès aux collecteurs et branchements d’assainissement enterrés pour le transport des eaux usées à une température jusqu’à 50 °C, sans pression ou occasionnellement à une pression inférieure ou égale à 1 bar, à l’extérieur de bâtiments, installés dans des zones de trafic routier et/ou de piétons.

EN 15383:2012 (E) 4 Foreword This document (EN 15383:2012) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 155 “Plastics piping systems and ducting systems”, the secretariat of which is held by NEN. This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by June 2013, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by June 2013. EN 15383:2012 (E) 5 1 Scope This European Standard applies to
a) manholes, when made from glass-reinforced thermosetting plastics (GRP) based on polyester resin (UP); b) inspection chambers, when made from glass-reinforced thermosetting plastics (GRP) based on polyester resin (UP) which are intended to be used with inverts which are at a depth not exceeding 2 m. These products are intended to be used within a drain or sewer system operating without pressure or occasionally at a head of pressure up to 1 bar. It applies to products, and their joints, intended for use in buried installations and to be installed by open-trench techniques. The units have a circular shape with nominal sizes not exceeding the maximum nominal size specified in EN 14364. The intended use of these products is to provide access to, buried drain or sewer systems for the conveyance of waste water at temperatures up to 50 °C, without pressure or occasionally at a head of pressure up to 1 bar, outside buildings and installed in areas subjected to vehicle and/or pedestrian traffic. It specifies definitions including symbols, requirements and characteristics of manholes, inspection chambers, joints, materials, test methods and marking. Note 2 to entry: Manhole components are subject to national safety regulations and/or local provisions regarding man-entry limitations. EN 15383:2012 (E) 12 4 General requirements 4.1 Classification 4.1.1 Categories Shaft and chamber units shall be made from units complying with EN 14364. Shaft and chamber units shall be classified according to nominal size (DN) and internal height. In addition, shaft and chamber units shall include nominal stiffness (SN) in their classification. 4.1.2 Nominal stiffness The nominal stiffness, SN, shall conform to one of those given in Table 1 (see Footnotes a and b). Where special applications require the use of units having a higher nominal stiffness than those given in Table 1 the unit shall be marked "SN N", where N is the number equal to the unit's nominal stiffness. 4.2 Materials for shaft or chamber units 4.2.1 General Shaft and chamber units shall be made from units complying with EN 14364 and be constructed using chopped and/or continuous glass filaments, strands or rovings, mats or fabric synthetic veils, and polyester resin with or without fillers and, if applicable, additives necessary to impart specific properties to the resin. The shaft or chamber unit may also incorporate aggregates, and, if required, a thermoplastics liner. 4.2.2 Elastomers Each elastomeric material(s) of the sealing component (if used) shall conform to the applicable requirements of EN 681-1. 4.2.3 Metals Where exposed metal components are used in the shaft or chamber units, there shall not be evidence of corrosion of the components after the metal component has been immersed in an aqueous sodium chloride solution, 30 g/l, for seven days at (23 ± 2) °C.
