Copper and copper alloys - Determination of chromium content - Part 1: Titrimetric method

This part of this European Standard specifies a titrimetric method for the determination of the total chromium content of copper and copper alloys in the form of unwrought, wrought and cast product. The method is applicable to products having chromium mass fraction between 0,10 % and 2,0 %.

Dieser Teil dieses Dokuments legt ein titrimetrisches Verfahren für die Bestimmung des Chromgehaltes in
Kupfer und Kupferlegierungen fest, die als Gussstücke oder als plastisch oder nicht plastisch geformte Produkte
vorliegen.
Das Verfahren ist geeignet für Produkte mit Chrom-Massenanteilen zwischen 0,10 % und 2,0 %.

This Technical Specification (CEN/TS) was approved by CEN on 23 May 2009 for provisional application.

The period of validity of this CEN/TS is limited initially to three years. After two years the members of CEN will be requested to submit their
comments, particularly on the question whether the CEN/TS can be converted into a European Standard.

CEN members are required to announce the existence of this CEN/TS in the same way as for an EN and to make the CEN/TS available
promptly at national level in an appropriate form. It is permissible to keep conflicting national standards in force (in parallel to the CEN/TS)
until the final decision about the possible conversion of the CEN/TS into an EN is reached.

and copper alloys”, the secretariat of which is held by DIN.
Within its programme of work, Technical Committee CEN/TC 133 requested CEN/TC 133/WG 10 "Methods of
Analysis" to prepare the following document:
CEN/TS 14940-1, Copper and copper alloys — Determination of chromium content — Part 1: Titrimetric
method
This is one of two parts of the document for the determination of chromium content in copper and copper al-
loys. The other part is:

1 Scope
This part of this document specifies a titrimetric method for the determination of the chromium content of
copper and copper alloys in the form of castings or unwrought or wrought products.
The method is applicable to products having chromium mass fractions between 0,10 % and 2,0 %.
