Leather - Determination of surface reflectance (ISO 17502:2013)
This International Standard specifies a method for determining the reflectance properties of a leather surface for visible and near infrared radiation. The reflection value in the near infrared determines if a
leather may be classified as solar reflective. The method is applicable to all types of leather, in particular for coloured leather.
Leder - Bestimmung der Oberflächenreflektion (ISO 17502:2013)
Diese Internationale Norm legt ein Verfahren zur Bestimmung der Reflektionseigenschaften einer
Lederoberfläche für Licht im sichtbaren und nahen Infrarotbereich fest. Der Reflektionsgrad im nahen
Infrarotbereich bestimmt, ob ein Leder als Sonnenlicht reflektierend eingestuft werden kann.
Das Verfahren ist für alle Ledersorten, besonders für gefärbtes Leder, anwendbar.

L'ISO 17502:2013 spécifie une méthode permettant de caractériser les propriétés réfléchissantes d'une surface de cuir dans le visible et le proche infrarouge. Le facteur de réflexion dans le proche infrarouge détermine si un cuir peut être classé parmi les cuirs réfléchissants.
Cette méthode s'applique à tous les types de cuir, en particulier les cuirs colorés.

Ta mednarodni standard določa metodo za ugotavljanje odbojnih lastnosti usnjene površine pri vidnem in skoraj infrardečem sevanju. Vrednost odboja pri skoraj infrardečem sevanju določa, ali
usnje lahko klasificiramo kot sončnoodbojno. Ta metoda se uporablja za vse vrste usnja, še posebej pa za barvno usnje.

This document (EN ISO 17502:2013) has been prepared by IULTCS “International Union of Leather
Technologists and Chemists Societies" in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 289 “Leather” the
secretariat of which is held by UNI.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical
text or by endorsement, at the latest by November 2013, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn
at the latest by November 2013.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of patent
rights. CEN [and/or CENELEC] shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights.

Foreword
ISO (the International Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide federation of national standards
