This standard specifies a test method intended to determine the maximum lateral force applied to a slide fastener for footwear under which it will close without failure. The method is applicable to all types of slide fastener.

Diese Norm legt ein Prüfverfahren zur Bestimmung der auf einen Reißverschluss für Schuhe aufgebrachten maximalen lateralen Kraft fest, bei der der Reißverschluss ohne Versagen geschlossen werden kann. Das Verfahren gilt für sämtliche Arten von Reißverschlüssen.

ISO 18403:2016 spécifie une méthode d'essai destinée à déterminer la force latérale maximale, appliquée à une fermeture à glissière de chaussure, à laquelle la fermeture se fermera sans défaillance. Cette méthode s'applique à tous les types de fermetures à glissière.

This document (EN ISO 18403:2016) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 216
“Footwear” in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 309 “Footwear” the secretariat of which
is held by AENOR.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an
identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by November 2016, and conflicting national standards
shall be withdrawn at the latest by November 2016.
