Diese Norm legt ein Verfahren an zur Ermittlung von Kennwerten für die Berechnung von geschweißten Konstruktionen fest, z.B. Behältern, Wannen, Tanks, Apparaten und Ventilationsleitungen. Vorausgesetzt wird, daß bei der Wahl der Werkstoffe und ihrer Verarbeitung die Normen nach Abschnitt 2 berücksichtigt werden. Die Angaben gelten für überwiegend statische Beanspruchungen. Für die Berechnung, Maße, Ausführung und Prüfung der verschiedenen Konstruktionen gelten die jeweiligen EN-Normen oder ISO-Normen.
